- What Others Have Said About Our Favorite Couple -

The plan was, which I really hope I fulfilled, is that the reader, like Harry, would gradually discover Ginny as pretty much the ideal girl for Harry. She's tough, not in an unpleasant way, but she's gutsy. He needs to be with someone who can stand the demands of being with Harry Potter, because he's a scary boyfriend in a lot of ways. He's a marked man. I think she's funny, and I think that she's very warm and compassionate. These are all things that Harry requires in his ideal woman. But, I felt — and I'm talking years ago when all this was planned — initially, she's terrified by his image. I mean, he's a bit of a rock god to her when she sees him first, at 10 or 11, and he's this famous boy. So Ginny had to go through a journey as well. And rather like with Ron, I didn’t want Ginny to be the first girl that Harry ever kissed. That's something I meant to say, and it's kind of tied in.

One of the ways in which I tried to show that Harry has done a lot of growing up — in “Phoenix,” remember when Cho comes into the compartment, and he thinks, ‘I wish I could have been discovered sitting with better people,’ basically? He's with Luna and Neville. So literally the identical thing happens in “Prince,” and he's with Luna and Neville again, but this time, he has grown up, and as far as he's concerned he is with two of the coolest people on the train. They may not look that cool. Harry has really grown. And I feel that Ginny and Harry, in this book, they are total equals. They are worthy of each other. They've both gone through a big emotional journey, and they've really got over a lot of delusions, to use your word, together. So, I enjoyed writing that. I really like Ginny as a character.

Harry dates Ginny. There is a really funny scene about this. In the beginning, Ginny dates Dean Thomas, and Ron says: "You have to hate anyone who goes out with their sister as a matter of principle". Harry, ashamed, says: " Yeah, I suppose so….". He gets a little embarrassed. It's even more complicated than dating Cho. But it's a sweet and important story in the movie.

The train began to move. Harry saw the boys' mother waving and their sister, half laughing, half crying, running to keep up with the train until it gathered too much speed; then she fell back and waved. Harry watched the girl and her mother disappear as the train rounded the corner.

"Ginny!" Harry muttered, sprinting to her and dropping to his knees. "Ginny -- don't be dead -- please don't be dead --" He flung his wand aside, grabbed Ginny's shoulders, and turned her over. Her face was white as marble, and cold as ice, yet her eyes were closed, so she wasn't Petrified. But then she must be --
"Ginny, please wake up," Harry muttered desperately, shaking her. Ginny's head lolled hopelessly from side to side.

"You've got to help me, Tom," Harry said, raising Ginny's head again. "We've got to get her out of here. There's a basilisk...I don't know where it is, but it could be along any moment.... Please help me --"
Riddle didn't move. Harry, sweating, managed to hoist Ginny half off the floor, and bent to pick up his wand again.

"I...." He glanced around to make quite sure that nobody was listening; Madam Pince was several shelves away, stamping out a pile of books for a frantic-looking Hannah Abbott. "I wish I could talk to Sirius," he muttered. "But I know I can't."
Ginny continued to watch him thoughtfully. More to give himself something to do than because he really wanted any, Harry unwrapped his Easter egg, broke off a large bit and put it into his mouth. "Well," said Ginny slowly, helping herself to a bit of egg too, "if you really want to talk to Sirius, I expect we could think of a way to do it...."
"Come on," said Harry dully. "With Umbridge policing the fires and reading all our mail?"
"The thing about growing up with Fred and George," said Ginny thoughtfully, "is that you sort of start thinking that anything's possible if you've got enough nerve."
Harry looked at her. Perhaps it was the effect of the chocolate-Lupin had always advised eating some after encounters with dementors-or simply because he had finally spoken aloud the wish that had been burning inside him for a week, but he felt a bit more hopeful....

A roar of celebration erupted from the hole behind her. Harry gaped as people began to scream at the sight of him; several hands pulled him into the room. "We won!" yelled Ron, bounding into sight and brandishing the silver Cup at Harry. "We won! Four hundred and fifty to a hundred and forty!
We won!" Harry looked around; there was Ginny running towards him; she had a hard, blazing look in her face as she threw her arms around him. And without thinking, without planning it, without worrying about the fact that fifty people were watching, Harry kissed her. After several long moments – or it might have been half an hour – or possibly several sunlit days – they broke apart.

I liked when Harry looked at the windows and saw that Ginny was reading the book and then when he entered and they embraced.
Then when Ginny went to console Harry had seen the death of Silence.
The scene of the kiss of H / G, even if the kiss was short but was very intense (I hope that in the next film the scene of the kiss is longer).
Lavender is fantastic reads well, Ginny was able to do its part. It's really nice. Ron is good!!.
Saturday I'm going to see again!

my favorite scene was when they kissed to be completely honest with you. It just WORKED for some reason. I actually thought the room of requirement was one of Bonnie's better scenes, so there you go. And harry's little snort after she said that the kiss can stay hidden in the RoR as well just made it for me. They were just fooling around there, it was adorable.

I'm also a huuuge fan of Hermione mentioning Harry's enjoyment of the desert. Maybe becuase it was one of the few things we knew NOTHING about

Mine's the scene at the end with Ginny comforting Harry. Nothing can beat that for me. The "Merry Christmas" scene and the scene at Slughorn's dinner come in next. Oh and when Harry first spies Ginny at the Burrow and they hug....in fact I think all three of those scenes are tied for second. LOL. And then everything else is third...okay I suck at this.

I haven't judged the film yet seeing as I haven't seen it. Sometimes I allow myself to be easily influenced by others' opinions, but Sanum, Rose, and Kyle seem extremely happy with the film and their opinions sound like they'll probably mirror my own this evening when I walk out of the movie theater.

It sounds like Yates developed Ginny and the H/G relationship very well and the dialogue and the "stuff" (I'm tired and incoherent.

) that some of the others want will come in DH. From what I've been reading HBP builds the foundation which will continue to be built upon in DH1. Does that make any sense? 'Cause I feel like it doesn't.

Again, I'll judge all of this for myself tonight. This is all based on what I'm reading.
