| Elite Fan   | Leos H/G: HARRY chose her! We just support his decision. Welcome to the official Leo thread everyone. Home of Harry James Potter and his beautiful bride to be Ginvera Molly Weasley.  Our lovely header was created by the lovely ~Nicole~ We think Leo (the astrological sign of the lion) is a great representation of Harry and Ginny and here's why: 1) Both are Leos: Harry was born on July 31st and Ginny was born on Aug 11th 2) Both are Gryffindor (Lions) students and quidditch team members 3) Both have firery spirits that seem to complement each other perfectly If these don't say match made in heaven, then heaven must not exist. MA: Well, she got paid back for it. JKR: [laughs] Eventually. MA: I think you set that up from the train compartment scene [in book one], where he was watching — all the relationships, that scene probably set it up. JKR: I think so. I hope so. So you liked Harry/Ginny, did you, when it happened? ES: We've been waiting for this for years! JKR: Oh, I'm so glad. MA: Oh my gosh, that kiss! JKR: Yeah. ES: It actually materialized! JKR: It actually happened, I know! I felt a little bit like that. MA: Had you been trying to get them — JKR: Well I always knew that that was going to happen, that they were going to come together and then part. ES: Were you always -----ing it? [We can’t figure out what Emerson actually said here.] JKR: Well, no, not really, because the plan was, which I really hope I fulfilled, is that the reader, like Harry, would gradually discover Ginny as pretty much the ideal girl for Harry. She's tough, not in an unpleasant way, but she's gutsy. He needs to be with someone who can stand the demands of being with Harry Potter, because he's a scary boyfriend in a lot of ways. He's a marked man. I think she's funny, and I think that she's very warm and compassionate. These are all things that Harry requires in his ideal woman. But, I felt — and I'm talking years ago when all this was planned — initially, she's terrified by his image. I mean, he's a bit of a rock god to her when she sees him first, at 10 or 11, and he's this famous boy. So Ginny had to go through a journey as well. And rather like with Ron, I didn’t want Ginny to be the first girl that Harry ever kissed. That's something I meant to say, and it's kind of tied in. One of the ways in which I tried to show that Harry has done a lot of growing up — in “Phoenix,” remember when Cho comes into the compartment, and he thinks, ‘I wish I could have been discovered sitting with better people,’ basically? He's with Luna and Neville. So literally the identical thing happens in “Prince,” and he's with Luna and Neville again, but this time, he has grown up, and as far as he's concerned he is with two of the coolest people on the train. They may not look that cool. Harry has really grown. And I feel that Ginny and Harry, in this book, they are total equals. They are worthy of each other. They've both gone through a big emotional journey, and they've really got over a lot of delusions, to use your word, together. So, I enjoyed writing that. I really like Ginny as a character. Okay, time to catch up on a few things (sorry if I'm going over old ground) I read the interview with Dan and two things stood out to me. 1 - That OotP is still going through the draft stage. That screams they're adding H/Gness to me. 2 - Dan wants to stay on especially after reading HBP. Could be a H/G shipper then? Or just have a crush on Bonnie?  Seriously though we all want Dan to stay on, and the same with Bonnie. I want all the kids to remain the same so it will be cool to see them in all seven films. I saw some of the fan art skimming through the last thread and wow! Nikki & Tar I bow down to your excellent work! Did anyone else listen to last week's PotterCast? Matthew Lewis was saying how Bonnie picked up the dancing better than him (so they didn't add that scene because Matt was a great dancer. So it was probably to show Neville and Ginny in your face so to speak before OotP), but that all of them did the workshops. It turned out to be a good bonding session for them all, and I think that will help see a more relaxed feeling then for Bonnie and the Trio when it comes to their scenes. Okay I'm going to poke my head into the Leo thread on the Dan board. | Elite Fan | Hey Fez, yeah Dan's interview was spectacular. He would feel honoured to continue with the role of Harry. He's about to jump into the 5 movie and he's finished the 6th book which he enjoyed so much. He's excited to read where Harry's life is going and he wants to be apart of that. Who wouldn't? It's a sweet deal and he's no dummy. To know that he will be one half of a soon to be legendary romantic couple in movie history? Wow! Harry will forever be associate with coming of age and discovering your inner strength and finding the importance of life and love and Dan gets to be the embodiment of that. So cool. AND he gets to kiss Bonnie Wright! This kid's too lucky for words and he knows it. The Neville/Ginny dance should be a delight to watch. I'm looking forward to seeing it. I liked the idea of the workshops they had to do. It loosens them up and allows them to feel comfortable to just be their characters and not feel like they have to act. I'm more and more impressed with the directing crew that take the time and nuture these kids into good actors. I'm convinced that if the adults didn't treat them they way they do, they would of had problems keeping the kids grounded and happy and wanting to come back film after film. And that's probably one of the reasons why Dan has publically said he'd loved to continue with Harry when other child actors might be bored or want bigger and better things out of greed or fame. I had assumed before that he might stay mum over any HBP discussion because him, being the careful and sensitive person he is, wouldn't want to spoil any fan's enjoyment of the book. But since the dr.co.uk interview it seems he's very open to discussion about the book and all it's plot developments especially pertaining to his own character. So that's very encouraging. He very well might spill on H/G sooner rather than later which would be awesome. | New thread, outstanding. Love the title. I entirely agree that the directing crew surrounding the younger actors are what has made this experience so amazing and special. They all just click as a unit and it has been a complete success all around. It's absolutely phenomenal that this close knit group of people have stuck together for all these years (outside of switching up the directors a bit) and not only that, the lead actor in the series is still loving it and wanting to come back for more, even stating that he would love to finish out the movies straight to the end. That is incredible stuff. It proves that the entire production involved in the film making works like a well oiled machine. It's all about awesome. I also cannot wait until Dan spills on H/G.
