Harry Potter - Leos - H/G: Equals in every way.

Welcome to the official Leo thread, formerly the Doppelgangers who's fans support the Harry/Ginny ship. We've updated our name so be sure to update your signature!

Our lovely new header created by the lovely ~Nicole~

The reason for the name change is due to the simple fact that most of us agreed that, although Doppelganger is unique, it doesn't suit our ship as much as it use to. With new evidence now to support H/G it was decided that Leo (astrological sign of the lion) is a great representation of Harry and Ginny.

1) Both are Leos: Harry was born on July 31st and Ginny was born on Aug 11th
2) Both are Gryffindor (Lions) students and quidditch team members
3) Both have firery spirits that seem to complement each other perfectly

If these don't say match made in heaven, then heaven must not exist.

See, I think he is in love with her. Just as I think Ron is in love with Hermione and vise versa. Sure he hasn't said it out loud but I personally get the sense that he cares about Ginny like nobody else. He's admitted that she's his only source of comfort. He might not realise it completely yet because this is the first time it's ever happened and he's so young but it's definately there. His separation from her will bring his feelings for her in more focus.

And another thing. If you say he isn't in love with her then what exactly is the next step down? Infatuation? He's definately not infatuated. Is it the grey area between infatuation and true love? What is that exactly? Their break-up solidified for me that he loves her because not only are they physically attracted to each other they have an emotional connection is essential for a lasting relationship. And the amount of time they've spent together is meaningless. You can spend just an hour with someone and just know you connect with them. It's all about chemistry and they've got it. Also I don't see him questioning his feeling for her either. His heart is completely committed to her even during their break-up. He says that he'd be devestated if she was killed or hurt and it was his fault. His devotion is overwhelming. He's in love, he just doesn't quite comprehend it yet.

That said, I certainly wasn't expecting him to realise it in HBP. If that had happened I would of questioned it. A normal 16 year old boy doesn't know what being truely in love feels like right away. And besides you can't have him declare love for her in the second last book. You've got to save that till the end. The big payoff.

I think bailey has a point. I think he already loves her... but he needs to realize it. That is what I meant with he has not yet fallen in love. The way I see it, you fall in love when you realize that you love someone. Right now, he loves her but has still yet to realize it. It's obvious that this is more than infatuation. If Harry felt only infatuated about her, he would not have done anything out of respect for Ron. It's the fact that he feels something else what makes him kiss her in front of everyone.
He was infatuated by Cho and you could see he could hardly talk to her. While with Ginny, he connects in a different level. Talk to her was never, ever hard.
I watched CoS movie the other day... their scene at the Chamber of Secrets is lovely... he did not want her to die, he wanted her to wake up, when she did, he asked her to leave and find Ron.... Harry really wanted her to be safe, regardless it would hurt him in the process. Exactly the same as HBP last scene....

Just checking in really quickly. I have been MIA the last two days. My computer crashed late Tuesday evening.. Along with that, my great uncle passed away. Anyway, my computer will be fixed today and I will be back in town Sunday.. I have really missed this thread! I just wanted everyone to know why I have been gone the last couple days and that I will be back and writing my usual, long posts starting this Sunday!

PS.. Being out of town for the funeral and being away from the computer has enabled me to read HBP for the 3rd time!

And, it seems that I am catching more and more hints and clues about H/G this third time around. It's a beautiful thing.

Oh, and since my extended family is around here, a bunch of my relatives also read HP.. And the vast majority are H/G fans! As a matter of fact, only one was an Auror but she is converting to being a Leo because she said JK sold her on H/G in HBP. I told her that JK sold me on H/G in SS.

Anyway, I can't wait to get back on this thread on a regular basis starting this Sunday!

I agree with baileycat--I think Harry is in love with Ginny, but he hasn't realized it yet. IMO, a part of him refuses to let him acknowledge his feelings because, in his mind, it will only put her in more danger. I do think he'll realize it in book 7. And, 86amanda86, I hope so!

Ginny won't let Harry go that easily.

It would be too much - too 'mushy,' too unrealistic, however you want to put it - if Harry did admit to loving Ginny in HBP. He's only 16 and she's only 15, which is so young. But Book 7 especially will call on all of them to grow up very fast, and I'm sure that Harry will actually acknowledge his love for Ginny then. Not in a totally mushy and romance novel-y way, that isn't JKR's style (thank goodness

), but with that same subtle brilliance in which she writes everything. Also, their separation in Book 7 will probably intensify/bring out Harry's feelings for Ginny even more so. I think that might be a useful tool JKR could use to strengthen the whole thing.

I had four friends over this last night, two of whom are avid HP fans - and neither of these are H/G fans in the least.

One of them said she would've preferred H/Hr (though she's not obsessed by it or anything - I don't think she even knows the whole obsessive online fandom exists), and the other didn't want any romance for Harry at all. It was just so annoying. They liked HBP, they were just complaining about H/G. I defended our ship of course, but it was hard with two against one. Ugggh. Just had to get that off my chest.

Oh yeah, and I love the thread title, too. And we didn't make that one up.

I've been doing some editing if you're paying attention to the opening post. I've omitted some outdated fics. Not all of them but some that are no longer canon. I don't think this list has been updated at all in a very long time from the looks of it. I thought it might be a good idea to see what new POST-HBP or during HBP fics are worthy enough to add to the list. I've read a couple of nice ficlets with missing scenes and just thought I'd ask if there any out there that you recommend. Just keeping our list fresh and up-to-date.

iamfez if you're out there, I've added your workshop site to the opening post as well. If you rather I take it down to keep your bandwidth traffic low while you continue to finish it, let me know and I'll remove it till you say it's ready.
