We don't really get as much promo here in Manila simply because HP has a massive fanbase. I reemember when GoF/OoTP were released, some local company all but begged the local distributor to move the playdate becuase their movies won't make profit for going up against HP *shurgs* But posters are all over the major highways around two weeks before the movie, and TV spots are also released.

I know the feeling. I had one colleague, when she saw the new posters earlier, said, "Good for Harry. I've always liked Ginny for him."

That's awesome, and it's true.

I've been seeing a lot of interest lately in the romances. As much as I dislike Twilight, it sells for a reason: romance is a big draw. People have watched these kids grow up, even the ones who've only watched the movies, and they're interested in what happens to them.

As for publicity, there's HBP stuff at Hot Topic and Barnes and Noble now. I'm waiting for the action figures to go on sale.

It's not only Twilight that hinges on romance -- Titanic grossed as much as it did because James Cameron was wise enough to weave a lovestory into the history of the boat. I doubt that if he were just straightforward, Titanic would even have been picked by 20th Century Fox.

Many of my female friends are looking forward to it.

Most of them were complaining that there's not much romance in HP. When they saw the trailer with H/G handholding and R/Hr, oh boy they're so excited about it.

We have a store here that specialises in personalised items, from mugs to bags to T-shirts.

That said, I'll probably have the latest poster in a mug, mousepad, clipboard and of course a T-Shirt.
