I had alot of fun catching up on this thread ... all the Bonnie and Chris quotes and then the discussion over JKR quote. I do have stuff to say on it but I think many people here summed up my feelings a bit as well and I'm pretty sure no one wants to hear about it anymore anyways .... so yeah I won't say anything more on that ... . except these few things -

I didn't really find those moments sexually charged at all to be honest but emotionally charged ( well the scene where she pats his head and he closes his eyes is neither for me

) and I'm not sure if the quote is that big a thing .. Harry could have ended up with anyone but he only ended up with one person ya know what I mean ? If anything was to happen .. it could have when they were alone in the tent but it didn't ... she cried over Ron and he mooned over Ginny and honestly, I find this quote a bit contradicting because of it. I guess maybe if Ron and Ginny weren't in the picture then maybe something ? Like I don't get the fuss .. she's not validating that it should have been H/Hr at all IMO. Anyways, whatever, I'm sure the wank from this will be good. Off to HMS STFU right after this

I also do hope it lessens the ill-feeling many H/Hrs have towards JKR, ~~but if they use that quote from JKR as a validation for H/Hr and then at the same time say that JKR saying H/G are soulmates means nothing that won't be very cool~~ and that well, as a massive Ron fan I was kinda insulted that she said Kloves is intelligent and blah blah .. there wasn't very much character understanding going on in PoA IMO though I always knew he was a H/Hr shipper

Sorry for the rambling even when I said I wasn't gonna say anything

But is there more stuff in the book ?

She just said they were charged moments. Which they were, and yes I'd classify them as 'emotionally charged'. Jo's just saying that it could have lead to more if there had been no Ron or Ginny. But as we all know, nothing happened and Harry still sees her as a sister.

As for Kloves, I didn't get the impression he was a H/Hr shipper. I actually got the feeling he was rooting for the canon ships before DH and then when he read that part in DH when H/Hr were alone, he started picking up H/Hr vibes and he wasn't sure how he felt about it.

But I agree he's never been good at Ron's characterization. I hope HBP is different in that regard.

Well, it's not like JKR can say, "He doesn't seem to get some of my characters at all! You have no idea how I've had to drop anvil-sized hints or state outright that he was wrong." It wouldn't be very politic of her even if it's true. She's always been very diplomatic about the movies.

I agree. She'd never say anything that rude to any of the movie people. It's just not her style.

Yeah....Jo's not like that. She wouldn't call Kloves out for not getting the characterization of Ron right or any other character of the HP series for the movie versions.

I feel a bit bad for JKR. Continuing to talk about her work isn't bad, but I feel like sometimes she's being asked to justify it to a level that I don't think is necessary for a fictional novel. But whatevs, if she doesn't mind doing it then more power to her.

I cried like a baby when Obama was announced the winner. Not helping? They played Titan Spirit from Remember the Titans after his acceptance speech and now I'm listening to over and over again and crying some more.

When Beedle the Bard comes out, I hope she gets asked questions about stuff that's going to be in the Encyclopedia and not stuff we already know. I want to know if Neville has children and, if he does, how old they are in comparison to the Potter kids. I want to know if Ginny's godmother to any of them. I want to know how long Gran Longbottom lives. I want to know if Lavendar Brown is alive.

To bring this thread back on topic, I want to know where Harry and Ginny are living. I hope it's not Grimmauld Place, I want the Potter kids to have a yard and a home without any bad associations. That's the same reason why I hope they're not living in Godric's Hollow. I don't think it'd be comfortable living in a place that has a statue commerating the death of your grandparents. Plus, that place looks like a tourist attraction and I can't imagine it'd be easy to maintain the family's privacy if they're living in that village.

I can understand what you mean about feeling bad about JK, having to justify what happened in the books. Though I really don't think she minds. She sometimes brings somethings up the gives us some lovely disscussions like as of now and perspective on certain things that she written in the books that some of us readers may not agreed with.

I was flipping between channels and I found out he won from Comedy Central's Indecision 2008. I was literally shocked, and quickly changed the channel to CBS to find out what state he won to push him over the 270 mark. I swear I ran around the house, acting all giddy.

I am sooo curious if Neville has any kids. He's the only one of the main kids that we don't know about. It'd be so sweet if Harry and Ginny were godparents to one of them.

I agree! I've always had it in my mind that Harry lived in Grimmauld Place right after the war, but when he and Ginny got married, they bought their own house. Some place nice and out in the country, with a big yard to play Quidditch in.
