| I'm very glad that Rowling gave those comments to the H/Hr shippers, because goodness knows they've been so angry and bitter towards her for so long now. And I always felt that it was unjust. Emerson is the tool who sparked the "delusional" nonsense, and put Rowling in a horribly awkward situation. But I absolutely agree with Rowling in her words here, too. Harry and Hermione could easily have been the romantic pairing of this series, were it not for two things: Harry's tendency to become annoyed with her nagging (and his tendency to avoid it rather than confront it), and the fact that there was no sexual/physical attraction between them. Had Rowling chosen to tweak the story a bit, then yes, it would have been simple for H/Hr to sail. But the physical attraction was always illustrated between Harry and Ginny, long before Harry himself was even aware of it. He never mused on Hermione's looks; but he took note of Ginny's, making sure the reader could pick up on it. H/G were soulmates from the get-go, and I'm very glad that Rowling saw that through to the end!  __________________ "I will always mourn the show. | Well said everyone. I couldn't have said it better myself.  I agree most of the bitterness came from Emerson's comments, and unfortunately a lot of the hate got directed on Jo. Hopefully this will help heal some wounds.*continues to squee over this*: Quote:
