I can't really remember her saying anything like that, but I could be wrong. I checked BWO, and all of the comments by Bonnie in regards to H/G are pretty much the same: That it was bizarre for her to read the books and realize that SHE was going to be the one kissing Harry Potter.

This one in particular seems to suggest that she was surprised by H/G happening in HBP, so I tend to believe that she hadn't really thought much about it and didn't see it coming.

That quote always made me giggle, because she made it right after HBP came out, and you could tell she was still trying to adjust to the surprise that she was going to have to kiss Dan.

Bonnies interviews tend to be really interesting, simply because she gives such diplomatic answers! You really have to read between the lines sometimes lol!

The Monday after the weekend of HBP's release a friend said to me, "Somewhere in the UK, Bonnie Wright is walking around shell-shocked after a bender of a weekend." I wonder what if the cast reads the books the way the rest of us do or if they read it like a potential script.

Yeah, I don't think Bonnie was expecting H/G and it really took her by surprise.

I thought much the same as CHH's friend after I read HBP. After I finished the book, the two actors I remember thinking about were Bonnie and Rupert, because both would have to do quite a bit of kissing.

Going by things she said during the OotP press, she did repeat the thing about being surprised by it, but you could tell she had grown to really like it.

You know, Bonnie pretty much predicted what would happen with Ginny there.

She wanted H/G to develop more, but she knew Ginny would also have to "let Harry do his stuff"

and then the six of them did shine through because N/G/L all brought the DA back. Pretty good, Bonnie.

i was surprised with the whole H/G pairing as well. i mean, yes, we all know that Ginny has a crush on Harry in CoS. but we never knew who Harry really liked. he realized it too late.

Haha in my ears it sounds as if she really would like to see a development concerning the relationship between Harry and Ginny. And who can blame her? Ah you just gotta love Bonnie, she's so cute

I was also surprised when I read the book and realised that Harry had feelings for Ginny, I didn't expect that since the story of Ginnys crush on Harry kind of faded out more and more after CoS, we didn't hear so much more about it so I figured it was a passing thing - but I was wrong and well, sometimes it's great to be wrong.

Yeah, I know!

All of her interviews taken recently after the release of HBP seem to say that she was very surprised with their relationship. But during the promotion of OotP it definitely seemed like she took quite the liking to it, she kept saying she wanted to see if anything would come out of it in DH.

But I do remember something along the lines of her saying she was wondering if something would happen between them, or she had always said that something would. I don't know!!

And I DID think it was really odd considering the fact that her initial response to reading about the two of them together was mostly shock. So it was just bugging me. I'm probably just confusing somebody else for Bonnie though. *pulls hair out*

Not really. I think he realized it just in time. I had always expected him to be drawn to Ginny in HBP. But what was a pleasant surprise was them actually getting together in the same book. I just assumed she would wait and draw out the Harry crush to the final book. But lucky for us she didn't. And looking back it makes perfect sense. Both knew and trusted their instincts so when their instincts told them to act on their mutual attraction they did just that. No sense in waiting and being coy when you know it's right. I love that about them.

Well it was kind of hard to figure out how Ginny would develop during the years, but when I realised how much she changed (which everybody does in that age) and what kind of person she was at the the fifth book I got the idea of Harry and Ginny together for a while. But I didn't think Harry would see it, lovely that he did.
They complete each other and they are on the same level, kind of. At first Ginnys crush on Harry seemed a bit like a phase to me, since I felt that she didn't truly knew "who he was". Well, later when she became more of a woman I felt that they became equals. And those two have so much to give each other. And I agree, it was lovely that she paired them together already in the sixth book, and that she didn't wait until the seventh one.

Jo even said that Ginny's crush was a type of hero worship because she truly didn't know who he was. But once they became friends she grew to understand what the real Harry was like. And for his part Harry wasn't aware of how similar they both were until Ginny began to act more like herself around him. They weren't ready to get together before it happened. Just as Ron and Hermione weren't ready either until they matured. it all happened very naturally and so beautifully.
