Welcome to the official Leo thread, formerly the Dopplegangers who's fans support the Harry/Ginny ship. We've updated our name so be sure to update your signature!

Our lovely new header created by the lovely ~Nicole~

The reason for the name change is due to the simple fact that most of us agreed that, although Doppelganger is unique, it doesn't suit our ship as much as it use to. With new evidence now to support H/G it was decided that Leo (astrological sign of the lion) is a great representation of Harry and Ginny.

1) Both are Leos: Harry was born on July 31st and Ginny was born on Aug 11th
2) Both are Gryffindor (Lions) students and quidditch team members
3) Both have firery spirits that seem to complement each other perfectly

If these don't say match made in heaven, then heaven must not exist.

So that last thread went by really fast. I'm so proud of us. I don't think there was a single post wasted. I get kind of tired wafting through treads that aren't on topic and are filled with one liners that are basically meaningless so it's really fantastic to see so many insightful people out there that want to talk about Harry and Ginny the way I do. I can't wait till spoilers are allowed. We need to edit in JKR's interview Re: H/G into the first posts whenever we can starting posting spoilers.

Also some asked about red herrings on the last thread. Also another type of red hearing is a clue or hint that leads the reader to purposefully think one way in order to hide what is really going on. Think of a murder mystery with multiple supsects. The writer will purposefully put clues in to serve as red herrings so that a reader thinks its one person when in actuality it is someone else.

I was reading a lot of Auror boards (I still do have a soft spot for H/Hr), and I can't believe how many of them said it came out of nowhere. I think JKR actually did a very good job of having Harry discovering his feelings for Ginny. I think she slowly wrote how he got jealous and then made him discover his feelings in quite a timely fashion.

One thing that I want to update is the fan fic recomendations on the opening thread. Some are outdated now that HBP has been released. Maybe we can start posting some good POST-HBP fics and replace the older ones. Of course AtE stays because that's just a classic (even if it's not canon anymore - and it came out before and during OotP) being dubed the H/G bible of sorts. Amazing and very accurate characterization of our couple. It blew me away at how on the mark they were about these two.

Houston.. Great point about Ginny not necessarily taking the news that R/Hr are helping Harry very lightly. I think she will be a bit upset/frustrated that they are going along and she is not.. Not really at Harry because she knows he is only trying to protect her, but more at the situation in general. I think she will be determined more than ever, to join them, knowing that R/Hr are going with him. Also, I see a continuation of a H/G talk about this at the beginning of book 7.. Probably at the wedding. I think Ginny will do either one of two things. Demand fiercely to go with him or just sort of act like she is okay with Harry doing this without her but she secretly plans a way to meet up with them eventually. Ginny will not be denied. I think we all can certainly rely on this fact due to our fiesty little spitfire.

That's such a cute idea. I would love it so much if, a little later in the book, she just popped up, having followed them all that way. That is a very Ginnyish thing to do, since she is such a spitfire and doesn't take things lying down. Someone needs to write a fic like that.... Not me. I'm still digesting the whole thing and haven't a clue what to write an H/G fic about. It took me a year after OotP to get fic ideas and it may take another year for HBP!

I agree... I was an auror for the 5 volumes of the book. But i think book 6 did H/G justice... Sometimes you just look around and see someone differently. That happened to ron with hermoine, and it happened to harry with Ginny. Also I always knew R/Hr would end up together, there were just too many hints... the jealousy, banter etc. At the end, for me, I was just holding on to hermoine b/she seemed to be the only girl harry was attached to, and I'm a harry fan, I want him to be happy. When I read how happy ginny made harry, my heart just melted. Plus Ginny kicks ass! With R/Hr and H/G, they'll all be one big happy family

I love all the charecters, and i just want all of them to be happy (especially harry)!! Harry would've never been able to be happy if he took Hermoine away from Ron, it would've created a huge barrier between them. But with Ginny, harry and ron will become brothers.

What does everyone think about comparing H/G to Tonk and Lupin?

I have a feeling that there might be some bonding between these four due to their similar relationship problems. Wanting to be together but staying apart because of strenuous circumstances. I can see Tonks and Ginny having a chat about their men and since this is in Harry's POV I can see Lupin speaking with Harry about love and relationships and how important it is to live in the moment and not worry about the obsticles that seem to be in the way. I think Remus now has learned how much Tonks cares for him despite his wolfy-tendencies. And age is only a barrier if you make it so. Love can't be controlled like that. If you want love you have to be brave enough to seek it and when it finds you defend it with all your heart's desire.

Man I'm in a fluffy mood right now.

Anyway, I see the reason why JKR put T/L in the final chapters is because she intends to use this new relationship to help benefit H/G in book 7. Somewhere, at some point, someone will have a conversation about Harry's decision to split up with Ginny.

I can so easily imagien a scene in which Harry is fighting a death eater and he gets hit, and before his vision fades to a black he sees someone attack the death eater and the last thing he remembers is a flowery scent

Also I would not be surprised baileycat if Lupin doe shave a talk with Harry about relationships. If he's in one now with Tonks, he can give him some perspective and also maybe tell harry about the love his parents shared (who fought against voldemort together).

August 15 definitely sounds reasonable. I mean, I don't mind, honestly, because I definitely don't want to ruin it for anyone. I was walking around with my fingers in my ears during the release weekend because my sister and my mom were both ahead of me and were talking about it, so I definitely wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone else. I would just hate to have to use spoiler tags through next year.
