Harry Potter - Lavender Brown/Jessie Cave Appreciation - because only she can say "Won Won"

WELCOME TO THE APPRECIATION THREAD FOR LAVENDER BROWN/JESSIE CAVE

~ ABOUT LAVENDER BROWN~

The best friend of Parvati Patil, Lavender tends to squeal and giggle a lot, and generally gives the impression of being silly; she's keen on Divination, for instance, having been convinced of Trelawney's powers after a vague prediction on the first day of class turned out (from one point of view) to have predicted the death of her pet rabbit, Binky (PA8).

In their fifth year, Lavender initially believed the Daily Prophet's insinuations about Harry, but Hermione shut her up (OP12).

Lavender attended the Yule Ball with Seamus Finnigan (GF22, OP11). Later during her sixth year, she managed to attract Ron and they had a hot and heavy relationship.

Lavender's saving grace is that she had the courage to be chosen for Gryffindor; during Hagrid's disastrous experiment to determine whether Blast-Ended Skrewts hibernated (they do not), Lavender, far from fleeing with the Slytherins, stayed to help and got burned (GF22). Unlike Seamus, Lavender joined Dumbledore's Army when it first formed (OP16). Further proving why she was a worthy Gryffindor, she stayed at Hogwarts in the final battle to fight along with the rest of the members of the DA and the Order. She was attacked by Fenrir Greyback during the battle however, but was saved by Hermione.

~ABOUT JESSIE CAVE~
Jessie beat over 7000 girls to win the role of Lavender Brown in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince film.

Interesting facts:
· Jessie can twirl a baton.
· Jessie is a talented dancer and can do ISTD Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Street and Jazz and Modern.
· Jessie is a trained tap dancer.
· Jessie can do a RP, London, Essez, N.Irish, Standard American and Southern American accents.
· Two years after leaving school the tap-dancer from West London, has landed the part of Lavender Brown
· The daughter of a GP won a place at Manchester University but left to pursue acting - a career she only considered after leaving school.
· An athlete as well as performer she is a former county swimmer and ex-national tennis player.
· Instead of stage school Miss Cave attended a mixed comprehensive school in Ealing and is the eldest of four of siblings.
· The Harry Potter producers almost missed out on the young actress who initially had her sights set on working backstage.
· Miss Cave had intended to study stage management at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA).

I find it really funny that it's a Spanish commercial, and yet she's British. Though I suppose she wasn't speaking in it so it doesn't matter.

Wow, the opening post is great

I was actually going to open a thread about Jessie/Lavender but I was too busy (why do I have to work, honestly? Oh yeah, to earn money

)

I really think Jessie's going to be a perfect Lavender, of course I only saw the clip of Summerhill but it was enough for me to know that!

As for the character of Lavender, I like her a lot, even before all the stuff with Ron in HBP. And even then, I never saw her like the girl who stole Ron from Hermione but just like a girl who had a crush on a guy but it wasn't the good for her

We didn't saw a lot of her in the books but she is in the top 5 of my favorite female character, and I really want to learn more about her (Jo, if you hear me

)

Yeah, I always liked Lavender too. She was just a fun character, a bit silly and giggly, but really what teenage girl at that age isn't? Plus she will always be a big catalyst for Ron/Hermione hooking up in book 7. So, we will always be greatful to Lav Lav for getting Hermione insanely jealous and finally admitting that she liked Ron.

I was trying to remember what happened to Lav in DH, was she the one that got attacked by Greyback in the final battle and Hermione saved her? Or was that someone else....

Yes, she was attacked by Greyback, saved by Hermione and left stirring on the ground... but is she dead or not? I hope she's still alive!

I'm going to assume she surived, cause if she didn't I feel like JKR would have included that in the book. She was a fairly major character in book 6, so I assume she would have mentioned if she had died and listed her name with the rest of the dead.

Exactly. Some people are really too harsh on her. She just happened to get caught up into something that was way bigger than just a snog. Besides, she didn't really do anything wrong? She was attracted to Ron (if Hermione is why not someone else too), he was single at the time, Hermione wasn't a threat either since she and Ron had a fall out and Ron gave in to her.

I'm glad that she was mentioned in DH. It's nice to know that she was there with them, fighting and willing to die for good.
