That entire scene was hilarious! I don't know much about Flamel so I read up and found this:

Yup, he was only mentioned in PS/SS so this bit of him being in part 2 was really an OMG moment because it would make sense for them to see him in Paris since he's from there. Plus this was 70 years before HP too.
