WELCOME TO THE RONALD WEASLEY | RUPERT GRINT APPRECIATION THREAD Ron is a member of the Weasley Family, a pure blood family, whom reside in "The Burrow" outside Ottery St. Catchpole. Along with Harry and Hermione, he is a member of the Gryffindor house. He's a comical character often called upon to lighten the mood but is immensely loyal to Harry. He is sarcastic, passionate, hot-headed and often wears his heart on his sleeve. ---- A B O U T R U P E R T -----  ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Rupert Alexander Lloyd Grint was born on August 24th 1988 in Harlow, England, UK, to parents Nigel and Jo.He's the eldest of 5 siblings.Rupert was already a big fan of the Harry Potter books when he heard of the chance to try out for the role of his favorite character in the series, Ron Weasley. It was on the BBC children's news program and website, CBBC NewsRound, that he first came to know about the auditions for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Unlike the other kids, however, Rupert's audition-video was original, creative and funny. Filmed by his mom, it featured a skirt-wearing Rupert, pretending to be his female drama teacher and performing rap/hip-hop lyrics, which he wrote himself, about how much he wanted the role, and why he deserved to be chosen to play Ron Weasley in the films. His video captured the attention of the casting department so much that Rupert got a call right away to come in for more auditions, and the rest, as they say, is history... ---- WHY WE LOVE OUR ICKLE RONNIEKINS -----  01. Wow, new thread! Thanks, Lindsay.
 And I think Bec asked something about favourite Ron moments or what we love about him? I love that he's so loyal. I mean, his jealousy and insecurity got in his way twice, but apart from that, he's always been incredibly loyal and brave. I especially love how he didn't miss a single occasion to defend Hermione. I love that about him. You can see he clearly learnt to do the right thing from his family.__________________

 There's too many favorite Ron moments for me to mention and I absolutely can't pick just one. But of course what I love most about him is his easygoing attitude, humour and his being brave. Ron balances out the friendship of the trio and whenever he's not around, you miss him. __________________

I was so sad in the bit of GoF when Harry and Ron weren't talking, and again after Ron left in DH!
 He brings so much to the series, and he is probably the most important person after Harry!  Ron is good for comedy, but the writers overdid it in the movies.  |

 Yes, except the love potion bit. That was so overdone that it was perfect. I still laugh when I see it. 'Do you think she knows I exist?' The way Rupert says that is just brilliant! __________________

I think Rupert ia a natural talent - let's face it, he's the only one from the three who can actually make a facial expression - but he lacks in other areas. I think if he was as hardworker as Dan and as ambitious as Emma, he would be one of the top names right now in Hollywood.
But it's pretty obvious that Rupert has no desire to become a famous Hollywood actor (at least for now) and he only wants to have fun and that's why i love him. He's not duzzled by the bright lights of Hollywood and he just wants to act and try different things all the time. |

I don't know if Rupert doesn't really want to become a Hollywood-star or he's just have it more difficult to find roles. But, I agree that he's a natural talent, not only in comedy like most people praise him for, but for all the aspects of acting. He's just a really good actor
