He'd definitely get in trouble. Plus with the Dursleys already iffy with magic, they'd have banished him more and probably leave him with nothing to eat or lock him under the cupboard.

It's tricky though. I'm sure the Weasleys (by Chamber of Secrets) are aware of how the Dursleys treat Harry but they're not family and they live in the wizarding world so technically they cannot do anything about muggle rules. So it was fun that they tried to rescue Harry in COS (or was that POA?) because the Dursleys locked him up in his room and they had to destroy the window so Harry can escape.

Thanks, yeah it was POA. Can you believe the Weasleys had to resort to those means just to rescue Harry? He was like in prison at his relatives house.

By that time they already knew that the Dursleys aren't treating Harry right (it was the third book). They really can't do anything about it since they're not family so they had to resort to extreme means to rescue Harry.

Ahh, even tho I don't even remember if he talked about his family w/ Weasleys in the book or in the movie..

In the books, he didn't (with the Weasleys) but it was implied that they know. Dumbledore knows too.
