Kreacher can't do anything about it but he complains and whines about it. Dobby is more accepting. Actually J'd probably be more Kreacher than Dobby if I was an elf.

Can you imagine if Kreacher was the Malfoy's servant? Kreacher would probably talk back, whine & complain all the time. Not sure if the Malfoys can ask for a "replacement" but if Kreacher is still technically doing his job, then they can't really "replace" him.

No nothing like that. Like for example since Kreacher can be problematic sometimes, what if he deliberately dissolves them? Can the Malfoys ask for another elf as their servant?

Yes they can't because they cannot "replace" their servants for whining or disobeying them unless they have done something very wrong. And most elves I think are obedient because there's a law for their employment.

However I do like that Hermione spearheaded SPEW because while some elves are okay being employed, they're not treated well by wizarding families and are practically slaves. It's sad that it'll take many years later, during Harry's time, for SPEW to happen.

I am thankful for Dobby that he warned Harry early on about his life being in peril. And that's why he was eternally grateful to Harry for "giving" him that sock.
