I think it was on purpose that they didn't let us know the spell Queenie used on Jacob so he'll forget but yeah, there are many memory charms to help muggles forget. I thought all the spells help forget permanently but it's looking like it's all temporary now.

I agree. There are numerous instances that Hermione saved not only Harry but both Ron & Harry. And also in DH, Ron saved Harry from drowning when he came back after he apparated when he & Harry fought over the necklace.
