Welcome to the HP Discussion Thread #2

Each week, we'll have different questions pertaining to different storylines and characters in all HP books and this thread is all about discussing our opinions on these. Please note the following reminders for this thread:

Okay answering the current question, I would LOVE to know more about the Marauders. I'm hoping Jo does a biography for James and Sirius like she did for Remus.

I would also love to know more about the original Order of the Phoenix and the first war. And then I would like to know more about a few spells/enchantments. Like how do you become an Animagus? And how does someone make Horcruxes? I remember Jo saying that she told her editor how Horcruxes are made, and she said her editor was really grossed out. In a creepy way, that only made me more curious.

Ditto on the Marauders. I would like to know more about becoming an Animagus too and how to make Horcruxes, both very intriguing.

I'd really like to know more about James & Lily too, especially their time in Hogwarts. That's an entire book right there.

Beyond and because I'm a HUGE RHr shipper, I'd like to find out how Ron proposed and just everything else after Hogwarts until their kids were born.

I would love to read about everything suggested so far.

I want to learn more about all four of Harry's grandparents.

I would love to find out if Molly & Arthur's parents are still alive. (It seems like they would have to be, because of the long lifespans in the wizarding community, unless they were killed during the 1st war.)

Hmm, now that you mention, I'd like to know more about both of their parents too and if the Weasley kids are close to them.

I would also like to know more of Dumbledore's backstory, in particular his relationship with Grindewald. I think we know that they both were attracted to each other but Gellert used that knowledge to his advantage (and why he's that way). Would he have the same selfish reasons as Peter Pettigrew?

For me: The back story on Severus's mom Eileen Prince and if she got disowned for marrying a muggle.

Also more of Petunia and Lily's relationship before Lily went to Hogwarts and when Lily came home from Hogwarts.

Also more of Severus's life after the ''mudblood'' comment towards Lily and what happened to him before Harry came to Hogwarts.

I'd love to learn more about Voldemort, though some people don't think it's necessary to add anything to the story of his life. But I've always been really interested in Voldemort as a person. I really don't know why. That's just the way it is.

Secondly, I'm very eager in seeing more of Dumbledore and his sister Kendra.

I'd like to examine the story behind Petunia & Lily, as well.

Erm, I think you mean Ariana. Kendra was Dumbledore's mother.

Oh yes, more about Dumbledore and his sister Ariana. And definitely about Lily & Petunia's relationship especially when they were younger.

And also since we're on the subject of Pottermore, what do you all think of the new information we got on Remus there? Do you all think we should get more background story from the other characters or should we know more about what happened to them post Hogwarts?

I feel like with Dumbledore's story alone, that'll be an entire book. He's lived to see good and bad wizards all his life. Did any of you foresee (or it may have crossed your mind) that he was gay?

Me too. I have assumed that perhaps he lost a wife or a relationship didn't go as planned but not because he was gay.

Exactly. I've felt sure about a few relationships, but I'd have never expected him to be gay.
