Spoiler policy and rules

Hello fellow HP fans. Well the big day is approaching so we would like to clarify some of the rules and spoiler policies for the board.

Hello Everyone! REMINDER Pre book spoilers please don't discuss them on the board. A lot of people thought there would be no pre book spoilers and don't want to be accidentally spoiled.

Our spoiler policy is for AFTER the book comes out. Since people read at different rates. Please if you want to discuss them that is what PMs are for or just don't mention any specifics.

HBP Spoiler Policy to be in effect until otherwise announced

You guys have chosen the following Spoiler Policy by an overwhelming majority. Please be respectful of the posters on the board who want to remain unspoiled. Cara, Chrissy and I will try to be here as much as possible but we are also counting on you guys to police yourselves. Be aware of what you are posting and PM mods if you see any spoilers.

Also please be sure to keep spoilers out of your signature and avatars. This could be a nasty way for someone to find out about what is happening in the book.

Discussion Threads

We will have the following discussion threads open (spoilers will be allowed on these threads) Please also remember these are for discussion and should stay on topic.

A Chapter by Chapter review, please make sure you only discuss the context of the chapters that are being discussed. These threads will be started by the mods and will include a few chapters per thread.

We will also have a separate HBP rumors and speculation thread. This thread will be merged with the other rumor and speculation thread when we decide the spoiler policy is no longer needed.

A Overall HBP discussion thread, to discuss all chapters, characters and plot lines.

We ask that you please keep the general discussion threads shipper free. All shipper talk should take place on the appreciation thread and be clearly marked as a spoiler.

REMINDER

Please remember the following rules:

Some examples of posts which will be edited include:
Any kind of extreme character/actor/poster bashing.
“you are so dumb for thinking that”
“all blank shippers are dumb how could they think that would happen”
Also NO POSTING “I TOLD YOU SO” about any ship. Comments like this are disrespectful and rude. Any comments rubbing a scene/moment in other people’s faces will be edited.

Please remember that shipper threads are safe havens for the fans of that couple. Please do not go into threads only to cause trouble.

Please do not quote spoiler posts in your posts! It crams up the board and makes for an unfriendly environment.

To make the board more friendly to those of us who haven't read the book spoilers must be marked with

and spaced appropriately. In addition to that please wrap [sp] [/ SP] around the spoiler you are posting (minus the space after the /). These measures are necessary on shipper threads but not on the chapter threads or the HBP Discussion thread. Spoliers are not permitted anywhere else on the board.

I was just wondering... On some other board I post on they have spoiler tags and when you use them, people will have to click on the text for it to show up, otherwise it stays completely invisible. I don't know if it's possible to include that on FF but I always thought it was a nice way to protect the non-spoiled people. Just a thought.

Nora, a way to sort of do that here is use the black text when typing your post. But that only works in the black background posts. It's a shame we don't have the maroon colour that is in our board's background as an option for the text. That would solve it.

Read and understood Mods. Thanks for doing the chapters threads. It would of been really full with 36 separate threads for each chapter (plus all the shipper threads). Let's hope people don't return to the threads after they read the following chapters that aren't in the grouping and leak spoilers accidentally. That would be bad. Even, "Don't worry guys, it gets better later" is too much you know.

I will post your idea on the mod board however right now that isn't an option.

But this is a panic now...

It says the book isn't released in Germany until October!! Does that mean the GERMAN language version, or the ENGLISH language version?!?! *looks at Cara hopelessly!!*

Awww... that's the German languan version, sweety

The English version will be available from July 16th in every bookstore. Well... almost every bookstore.
