| Oh. My. God. When my brain starts to function again and I've processed the new developements I'll post a more detailed response. Harry, Hermione & Ron are giving up schooling even if Hogwarts is to remain open? Oh my... ~Chrissy~ __________________ Life is short. Enjoy it. | |||

| I feel the same, but I love how Harry has grown up. He's accepted his destiny. And I can't wait to see what some of them get... __________________ Icon credit: B&BFan4Life | |||

| Indeed... he doesn't seem so slow to catch on now that he's grown up. It's as if the wool has been removed from his eyes. I just wish that it hadn;t taken Dumbledore's death for this to have happened. Blah! __________________ Life is short. Enjoy it. | |||

| It's going to be weird not having Hogwarts as a backdrop. It's always been there, this venerable institution where the students could go to feel safe and normal, however normal wizardry is, so I guess it will be like the rug is pulled out from under them. It's a scary prospect, thinking of what one 16 year old wizard, even with his two best friends, could do without that solid support. Anybody else hate the fact that Snape really did turn out to be bad? It seemed a little anticlimatic to me. I would have liked it better had there been some hint that he would go back and forth, no matter the cost to himself. ~Cal __________________ D'Artagnan *Aspire* Arrow & Dreamer, forever What am I writing today? | |||

| Here are a couple reaaaalllly cool HBP theories I found from various online HP communities: This one says that Regulas Black (possible R.A.B.) might've hidden the locket Horcrux in Number 12 Grimmauld Place: Quote:
Now, this is the cool theory: maybe Harry is the last Horcrux. Maybe he may have to destroy all of the Horcruxes, Voldemort, AND himself. It says that you have to kill someone in order to make a Horcrux, and Voldemort killed Harry's parents... so wouldn't that make sense? Quote:

In this list from Mugglenet.com, there are different things that we thought that Jo would include in Book 6. Am I going nuts, or are must of those things listed not addressed in the book? What do you guys think? ![]() __________________ | |||

| That Mugglenet list gave me a lot of things to think about. You're right, there still seems like a lot wasn't addressed. And what about that bit that describes the half-blood prince? Quote:

| I actually really love that Snape appears to be evil. That's a twist I'm sure not many expected. He's always been the good guy you love to hate (or some of us just plain hate ). I never would have guessed he'd kill Dumbledore. Oh and what a coincidence....Harry was right again and no one believed him again. ![]() Well there certainly is a lot of stuff to wrap up in book 7, but I also doubt there will be very more new developments so it'll focus on finishing the story. Harry's quest means all kinds of things, especially him returning to Godric's Hollow. I'm guessing there we'll learn more about Lily and the night of the attack. The final stay at the Dursley's will reveal whatever is left hiding in them. There's more to Snape left to be discovered, I'm sure. But really we learned quite a lot in book 6: Voldemort's back story, Horcruxes, some about Snape, more about the Malfoys, etc. ETA: That excerpt describes the new Minister in the opening chapter. I guess someone was confused and thought that it described the HBP. __________________ There's a plan to make all of this right... | |||

| I think Regulus Black was definitely the R.A.B. from the locket. As soon as I saw those initials that is who came to mind. The point about the heavy locket is a very very good one. Let us all hope that Mundungus didn't manage to nick that from the house ![]() As for Harry being a Horcrux... I'm not too fond of the boy butI don't want his whole life's struggle to have been in vain. Is anybody else bothered by the fact that Albus drank that blasted potion for no reason other than to find a note from R.A.B.? Also, I don't think Snape is wholey bad. He made that Unbreakable Vow to Narcissa- if Draco wouldn't kill Dumbledore, which I don't believe he would have, Fenrir and the other Death Eaters would have killed him. Snape would've died because he hadn't been able to save Draco. Draco is a clever little nit for finding such a loophole with those cupboards. Snape had to do it though. I was horrified that he did but he had to do it to save two lives. As a superb Legillimens and occlumens I am sure that he was able to get this through to Albus or for Albus to understand and probably consent. Albus would probably rather two live and one die than all three of them die- as long as Harry made it. I can only wonder what our very talented fic authors are coming up with right now... ~Chrissy~ __________________ Life is short. Enjoy it. | |||

| I'm dying to know where the book will take place if there is to be no Hogwarts next year. Does that mean we won't see the familiar faces of Luna, Neville, Seamus, Dean, etc.? If so, I'll really miss them. And will the book still say "Year 7" on the binding if the trio is not really participating in their seventh academic year? | |||

| Oh wow...I hadn't considered that with Regulus...But I think it is right. Damn, I am so hungover from the book. It was really draining. What the ****, Snape? __________________ Icon credit: B&BFan4Life | |||

| That excerpt was publicized as a description of a new character from HBP that several people thought was the HBP. how wrong they were... As for Harry returning to Godric's Hollow- I believe a Horcrux will be located there somewhere. If Tom thought enough of the cave to place one there, he surely must have one there if it is not Harry or Nagini. Dumbledore only assumed that Voldemort did not have all seven. It was not stated that he didn't complete them only that that was Dumbledore's assumption. JKR was very keen to point out at the beginning of each of their lessons that all Dumbledore's thoughts and theories were just educated guesses and assumptions. ~Chrissy~ __________________ Life is short. | Interesting theory... Personally, I think that I will not be able to read the chapter that Harry visits his parents graves. It puts a knot in my chest just thinking about it. __________________ Icon credit: B&BFan4Life | |||

| I must admit I love Harry and would hate to see him go through the entire series only to realize that he would have to make the ultimate sacrifice in the end. I suppose that would be fitting, but damn I like a happy ending. I guess it will be hard to make the series end, if not happily, at least not on a depressive note after the tone it's had so far. I hated that Dumbledore had to go through all of that just to get a fake locket. I'm glad someone put forth the Regulus line, because I certainly couldn't remember anyone with those initials. What do we know about him? He was burned off the Black tapestry, wasn't he? ~Cal __________________ D'Artagnan *Aspire* Arrow & Dreamer, forever What am I writing today? | |||
