I do like how they revealed Crouch as Moody in the movie. I can't remember if it was the same in the book.

IKR? Poor Moody. Of all the teachers that Barty Crouch was gonna impersonate, it was him. I wonder why him and not McGonagall or Trelawney (for example).

If that happened to me, I'd be traumatized for a bit but I'll also have trust issues. Imagine having someone impersonate you and you have no idea what happened plus everyone also feeling sorry for you because of what happened.

No one really noticed that Moody isn't Moody for starters. Barty Crouch did a good job of impersonating him.

Plus it's hard because Barty looks like Moody. So it's easy to shrug off Moody's behavior and say that he's not himself or just having a bad day. The last thing anyone will ever think is someone drinking a Polyjuice to impersonate him.

So it was a brilliant plan really (c/o Voldemort). And because of what happened, Voldemort was able to use the Portkey to get to Harry.
