^ UGH. You are right.
 They're magical creatures so Thestrals can only be seen in the wizarding world and not the muggle world but if you're a muggle in a wizarding world and have lost a loved one, you're most likely going to see a Thestral.__________________

It isn't clear if you still see Thestrals as an adult but what we do know is that only wizards and muggles can see them if they lost a loved one.

Harry actually saw them late and he didn't see them during his 1st year at Hogwarts. I'm not sure what makes them see the creature but at one point in your life, you'll see them if you have lost a loved one.

Yup! He should've already seen them by the 1st movie but maybe it's because they wanted to show his connection to Luna (who lost her mom) and that's why he saw the creature much later. But technically he should be seeing them already in the 1st movie.

Plus he only met Luna that time too. Other than Luna, everyone else's loved ones are still alive except for Ron in DH. He would've seen the Thestral too post-DH.

Dumbledore should see it too since he lost his sister Ariana.
I read a question before from a fan asking JKR I think if Hermione would see a Thestral eventually, when she married Ron, making Fred her family. __________________
