Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort’s defenses and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, the well-connected and unsuspecting bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information. Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different adversary as teenage hormones rage across the ramparts. Harry finds himself more and more drawn to Ginny, but so is Dean Thomas. And Lavender Brown has decided that Ron is the one for her, only she hadn’t counted on Romilda Vane’s chocolates! And then there’s Hermione, simpering with jealously but determined not to show her feelings. As romance blossoms, one student remains aloof. He is determined to make his mark, albeit a dark one. Love is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again.” Sneak Peeks ~ Behind the scenes videos of the making of Half-Blood Prince YouTube - Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - Sneak Peek 1 YouTube - Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - Sneak Peek 2 YouTube - Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - Sneak Peek 3 New HPB Teaser Trailer (29/07/08) YouTube - 'Half-Blood Prince' trailer now online __________________ "It gives me a certain satisfaction to say what I thought happened and to tell other people that, because I would like my version to be the official version still, even though I’ve not written it in a book, because it’s my world.” ~ JKR"When you really believe in yourself, you don't have to bring other people down." ~ Quinn, Glee

| Thanks for the new thread Amy! You know I think we'll get great peformances in this film. Dan has impressed me, and I always thought he was terrible. I think I know the reason why he's been good...Mark Day's editing. It's a known fact that a peformance can be made spectacular with the right editng. I don't get how people would bash Mark Day when his editing supported the peformances of the actors. | |||

| I didn't think Dan was horrible. The only time I had a problem with his acting was in PoA, the crying scene in the snow. *winces* Otherwise I think he learned more about acting. He was great in OotP. I bet you anything, Dan doing Equus will help him acting wise for HBP. Plus Yates got some of the best performances for the HP cast for OotP and he's back for HBP and for Part 1 and 2 of DH. So I think the acting will be okay. ![]() __________________ The Adventures of Goggle-boy and Bat-girl! | It's a combo of Dan's experience, Yates, and editing that drove his peformance. Because in POA he did improve, just went overboard thanks to Fonsy. But in GOF his peformance was a lot weaker than POA, which I found strange. I saw this thing on film editing and Scorsese and others have credited editers to give actor's peformances a boost since the 1930's. I think one of the reasons why Daniel Day-Lewis got the oscar for There Will Be Blood, because his best scenes were shot in long unedited takes. Anyway Dan will be better in HBP because of experience, Yates and Day. ![]() | |||

Ever think that, perhaps, MAYBE the actors did well on their own. Why do you love him so much Kevin? I'm just curious... __________________ Ron/Hermione Harry/Ginny![]() Happy in the Club with a Bottle of Red Wine, Stars in our Eyes ‘cuz We’re Having a Good Time So Happy I Could Die Icon Credit: Moi

| Because OOTP was a lot more entertaining. I couldn't stand how long it took to get to the point. Especially in the forest scene of the first two films. I rather have them cut from Umbridge's Office to the forest, it actually got a great reaction from the audience when I went to see it, because right then and there everyone knew EXACTLY what Hermione was going to do. And the occlumency scenes and montages were also well done. All and all, I never skip any scenes in OOTP because of Day's editing make it far more interesting than the other films. And sure they did well on their own, but we see different takes molded into one scene. Hence why editing is key to great peformances. | |||

| I think great performances and scripts are key to great performances. If you ever watch the Oscars, most of the clips they play when presenting the acting nominees tend to be longer takes. With little to no cut betweens. The reason i don't like Mark Day is because, despite the fact that he gets quickly to the point, you miss some things. He was a TV movie editor before, and it shows at times. Quick cuts that would be brilliant whilst on ABC, but don't make much sense in a movie theater. That and The fact that when they were in the ministry, the five behind Harry ended up turning to face the death eaters about 5 times. Twice could be forgivable, but thats just sloppy. So yes, I am slightly nervous about how he's going to do HBP. His editing doesn't ruin the movie for me, but it can get pretty distracting. __________________ Ron/Hermione Harry/Ginny![]() Happy in the Club with a Bottle of Red Wine, Stars in our Eyes ‘cuz We’re Having a Good Time So Happy I Could Die Icon Credit: Moi | |||

| It's the confusion of battle. I don't know what you mean though, they were surrounded by the Death Eaters. And yes, I know about the Oscars, that's what I was saying, but it's those scenes that get the attention, while throughout the films the editer pieces together the film hence the great peformances and the passable one by Dan for OOTP. | |||

But Harry and Lucius would be talking and th others would notice the death eaters and would turn to face them. Then they magically appear to be paying attention to the the conversation at hand , but notice the death eaters and turn to face them. __________________ Ron/Hermione Harry/Ginny![]() Happy in the Club with a Bottle of Red Wine, Stars in our Eyes ‘cuz We’re Having a Good Time So Happy I Could Die Icon Credit: Moi

| In your opinon. Just because they kept turning around. And don't downgrade him for editing tv movies, they were still high quality films. The BBC has made superior films than most of the crap Hollywood has produced. | |||

| I'm not saying that TV movies suck. Its just that the editing for a TV movies is always going to be different than the editing for a feature film, because you need to take into account that there is going to be commercial breaks. And it this technique showed a few times in OOTP. __________________ Ron/Hermione Harry/Ginny![]() Happy in the Club with a Bottle of Red Wine, Stars in our Eyes ‘cuz We’re Having a Good Time So Happy I Could Die Icon Credit: Moi | |||

| Well at least it'll be useful when it premiers on ABC. Didn't they have problems shooting the battle anyway? I mean I forgive them for the edits because the whole film made up for it. And I think they would notice that as well, and try to perfect it in HBP. | |||
