Plus I remember when I first read about it in the book, I was really impressed but also I questioned myself why I didn't think Snape was the HBP. His mother's name was Eileen Prince so that was clue in itself.

Plus Snape's father Tobias, was a muggle and his mother is a witch. So "Half-Blood Prince" was a big clue.
