Dave, thanks. It's hot today but I'll miss this weather once the rainy season start here next month.

Steph, wow a snow storm. How different is a snow storm to a blizzard anyway?

Snow storm wasn't that bad bec if it's blizzard which that mean they have to close train transportation bec most of the train running inside tunnel to outside and limited to city buses even they have to close school/works when they shouldn't be driving on the road that caused the accident which some people still don't listen to it..

Dave, does it usually rain a lot there too? Like how much of rain do you get?

Steph, yikes! Do you get automatic leave from school or work because of a blizzard? How long do those last? That's pretty scary if there's too much.

If the city announce that it's closed then we don't need to go.. Which that's good even tho if it wasn't that bad, we still have to go..

Dave, now it's summer there so time to refresh yourselves with this heat.

Jade, considering where your country is situated in the world, it should snow there but yes, it rarely snows in England.

Steph, oh so a city announcement by the mayor has to be made? When was the last time a really bad snow storm happened over there?

yes...summer is a whole lot easier to go out ...and I have to wait for buses.... so it's easier to wait for buses in the summer than the winter

Yup, by the mayor who need to announce, but if not then it's up to school/college if they can close it or not.. Not the works.. The last time was in Feb/March, they close it for a day..

Dave, I can imagine. Winter is such a tough time for everyone there.

Steph, it's the same here. Our weather bureau will announce storm signals. Automatic suspension usually for grade & high schoolers. College is upon discretion of the dean. Public offices are usually cancelled, private offices upon discretion of company president. Mayors have the discretion to suspend classes (if the Education Department still hasn't declared) in their cities if storm is up to Category 4. Since I work, none of this applies to me. It's very rare for our company president to advise everyone that work is suspended because of a storm. That's why I use a lot of emergency leaves during typhoon season.

It used to snow maybe once a year, but it hasn't snowed for three years.

It's far too hot. It's been 28 degrees at night and 30-33 in the day time. It's the hottest day since 1976 today.

Yeah, England hasn't had snow for 3 years now, but Scotland has had some sleet. Nothing much else.
