Hermione Granger and Severus Snape are simply meant to be...
Yes, he's her teacher. So, what.

They just make sense together, really.
Some of us like the SS/HG ship is because we read fanfiction for escape and fantasy. What is forbidden in the real world makes for great fantasy reading. We don't go for 15 yr old Hermione and 35 yr old Snape, but when she's of consenting age (17 in the UK and 18 in the US) then we love to let our minds go wherever they want to. We DO NOT in any way shape or form condone pedophilia or real life teacher/student relationships here! That's gross and wrong. We are strictly speaking about fictional characters of legally consenting ages in fictional relationships!

NOW, if you are asking why would we think Snape & Hermione could work as a couple, that's an easy answere! Go read HJSnapePM's 53 reasons and the beginning posts for this thread where those that also love this ship have given their reasons. We'll make an SS/HG shipper out of you!

Why Snape & Hermione Are a Perfect Match

Because no one else can keep up w/ Hermione intellectually
Because no other woman is brave enough to love Snape
Because forbidden fruit always tastes sweeter
Because it would drive Harry & Ron nuts! LOL!
Because Hermione trusts him
Because she doesn't hide her intellegence in his class
Because she could give him the love he's never had
Because she respects him even though he acts like an arse!
Because age is just a number and wizards & witches live a long time!
Because making Hermione Snape's new pet would drive Draco nuts!
Because they're both so passionate they'd either love each other or kill each other.

No, I don't mind at all! In fact I was rather tickled.

If someone will alert me when it's getting time to start the next thread I will have us a nice thread starter like we did for the Snape thread.

Now, my momma has been admitted to the hospital. She's got a lot of health problems and it turns out that she got really sick. She has dangerously low sodium and potassium and is dehydrated. My family is going to call me to let me know if I need to take a flight back home to be w/ her. They are saying they think she's going to be just fine, but just in case I have to go I expect you guys to be good and keep the thread flourishing!

I am probably one of the crappiest authors I know but I'm doing a series of letters from Hermione to Snape post-HBP. They are all unrelated and for various circumstances but I figured you might want to check them out since no reputable Snape/Granger archive is allowing HBP fics yet.

I have great news! I just got to talk to my mom in her room. She's been hooked up to an IV and the doctors want to keep her overnight, but they think she's going to be just fine. I'm so relieved! I was so freaked out earlier. Yesterday she said she was fine and today she was in the hospital. It's so scary when you're so far away from people you love and stuff like this happens. I'm just so thankful that she's going to be okay.

Well, I'm sorry to say that I haven't read any new HG/SS fics of late. I am starting to miss them. Anyone read anything post HBP yet? I think I shall go on a hunt tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Meanwhile, thank you very much for your review. I finished the second letter for my series. I am not too fond of the first one and I like the second one better because she's somewhat "in on it". I think I'll write the third before I go to bed and have it be of the circumstances that Snape is evil and so is Hermione just because you don't often find fics like that.
