Precisely..They were returning to Hogwarts after not-much-fun trip to Hogsmade and suddenly they saw Katie flew to the air after arguing with her friend accidentally tearing up the parcel that contains the curse necklace.

It was stormy. Harry had such a bad mood catching Mundungus stealing from Sirius' house and selling them to DD's brother which made him furious plus the bad weather they'd decided to return to Hogwarts but while walking back to the castle they've witnessed Katie's unfortunate accident.

^ I agree and I definitely see Hermione inviting both Ron and Harry to her house once and Ron would be probably a bit taken by every muggle device.

Ron reminds me of Arthur and how fascinated he was with any muggle stuff. Ron probably doesn't show it as much as Arthur but I can imagine him being really awed by the internet, for example.
