I didn't mind Snape as much, b/c well, he's hated him for years. To see Mrs. Weasley do that was much worse to me. I mean she's so sweet and motherly but she can hurt just as well as Snape can.
Working on a Sirius/Remus. 'm quite excited about how it's turning out. And I'm commissioning a painting from the illustrious Soda. ^^ |

Do you have any examples of this Soda persons work that I would be able to see?
I really didn't like Mrs Wealey that much in OotP, but I guess she was just being a normal mother. |

Sirius is ultimately responsible for his own actions, but Snape did deliberately infuriate and taunt him. But, the two of them have so much history, so much hatred there. I often got annoyed with some of the adults for not being able to let go of the past, although I guess it's a believable thing and happens in the real world, too. Sirius I could see why he couldn't - for him, it really wasn't the past, not emotionally. He was stuck in Azkaban since right after James and Lily died, tormented by Dementors. He didn't have much time to assimilate and deal with what happened.

I don't think that Snape wanted to understand what Sirius was going through. He was too stuck in the past and what Sirius did with the Whomping Willow incident (and really, I can't blame Snape for being angry about that. I just wish they'd both been able to get past it, in order to concentrate on fighting Voldemort. Of course, who knows what's really going on with Snape?). But yeah, I would have liked it if Mrs. Weasley had been a bit more understanding and patient, but I guess she was acting from a place of emotion, worried about and wanting to protect Harry.

Yeah, it just seemed so much like jealousy over Harry. Although I don't think that was all it was - Mrs. Weasley loves Harry and genuinely wants to protect him, so I could see her concerned about what she considered Sirius's "recklessness". I'm sure she freaks out about a lot of the things Harry does all on his own (at least what she knows about) without someone else encouraging him. But it was a big part, and it would have been nice to have seen some attempts at understanding. I wonder if they knew each other before. I know Sirius was in the original Order, of course, but I can't remember if Molly Weasley was or not. I really need to do another reread of the HP books. Do you recall?

I'm pretty sure her and Arthur weren't they weren't in the picture Mad-Eye showed Harry. I don't think that they would have known each other before hand. And she had probably based some of her feelings for Sisius on what she heared in the media. Remember how she acted towards Hermione when Rita Skeeter wrote about her.
I find this odd because Arthur is always having things written about him in the media so you would think that Molly wouldn't believe what she reads. |

Thanks for answering my question about Molly and the original Order. And that's a good point about how she might have been basing some of her opinions on Sirius based on what she'd read about him for years. I guess it would be hard to let go of years' worth of thinking that he was one of the worst Dark Wizards around. Intellectually, she would know that he was innocent, but on some subconscious level, there might still be some dislike lingering.

And she does sort of freak out when she first sees Sirius in Hogwarts at the end of GoF (which is understandable). So I guess we're actually seeing an improvement in OotP.

What, we can't do both?
And for the record, I love Sirius! __________________
