A lot of the people wanted Timothee to win. I haven't seen CMBYN to judge but I'm sure he did well. Gary is a veteran actor so I think he has an edge here plus he portrayed a real-life person, Winston Churchill, so that's tougher to work on for an actor.

Even tho from I heard about CMBYN there was age gap which I feel not sure about it bec I don't care if they are gay, lesbian or straight, but the age gap always will be issue.. Plus I know half of veteran actor haven't won until they finally did which I can see Gary is the one more than other.. But I really hope that Denzel will be next one since he did lot of films..

I looked it up and he did won Oscar for supporting role, but never leading role.. And that award for the movie he did, Glory..

He just needs the right movie & role. It took Gary so many years until The Darkest Hour finally gave him the chance. He got all the major awards, no one stood a chance of winning against him.
