My own head canon for young Bellatrix until I'm proving wrong from JK Rowling:

She loved the muggle world when she was a young teenager but something happened to a person she loved in the muggle world or wizarding world that made her start hating the muggle world and joined the death eaters.

Death most likely to make her hate the muggle world so much. Maybe a loved one perhaps?

Three headcanons that I have for Bellatrix turning to Voldemort:

It could either been a muggle best friend that got killed by another muggle

She was in deep love with a muggle or wizard that got murdered (by a muggle or wizard) (The only problem with it being a wizard killing her loved one would be that she could have turned against the pureblood ways like her sister Andromeda did, that is the only problem with the my headcanon about a wizard killing a muggle)

It was a wizard or witch that got murdered by a muggle that lead Bellatrix to Voldemort.

She grew up in a pure blood family so having a muggle friend would probably not be possible.
