Harry Potter - Dream Team [Harry&Ron]- Canon Since Day One!!

Met by chance, friends by choice!

Once upon a time, a boy named Harry Potter arrived at the London Train station looking for Platform 9 3/4. Of course, to the naked muggle eye, there was no Platform 9 3/4 and so he had to rely on a bunch of red headed strangers to get him where he needed to go. Then, later, while sitting in his compartment, the youngest boy of the red-headed strangers stumbled in and asked if he could sit there. And thus a glowing friendship began.

Why Harry and Ron are THE perfect Dream Team!

1. Because Harry found Ron equally interesting

"Are all your family wizards?" asked Harry, who found Ron just as interesting as Ron found him. SS-99

2. Because Harry can tell who the wrong sort are for himself.

"You'll soon find out some wizarding families are better than others, Potter. You don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort. I can help you there."
He held out his hand to shake Harry's, but Harry didn't take it.
"I think I can tell who the wrong sort are for myself, thanks," he said coolly. SS-108

3. Because Ron is fast to back Harry up anytime and vice versa.
"Never heard of a Wizard's duel before, I suppose?"
"Of course he has," said Ron, wheeling around. "I'm his second, who's yours?" SS-153

"Don't remember asking you to join us, Malfoy," said Harry coolly. Ron was shaking with fury.
"Get stuffed, Malfoy," said Harry. "C'mon, Ron .."
"Oh yeah, you were staying with them this summer, weren't you Potter?" sneered Malfoy. "So tell me, is his mother really that porky, or is it just the picture?"
"You know your mother, Malfoy," said Harry - both and Hermione had grabbed he back of Ron's robes to stop him from launching himself at Malfoy - "that expression she's got, like she's got dug under her nose? Has she always looked like that, or was it just because you were with her?"
"Don't you dare insult my mother, Potter."
"Keep your fat mouth shut then," said Harry, turning away.GoF-204

4. Because Ron always has good advice for Harry.

"And what if I wave my wand and nothing happens?"
"Throw it away and punch him on the nose," Ron suggested. SS-153

5. Because they *both* care about Hermione.

"Oh, no," said Ron, pale as the Bloody Baron.
"It's the girl's bathroom!" Harry gasped.
"Hermione!" they said together. SS-175

6. Because they both hate the same people.

(after Malfoy insults him and Snape takes points from him) " I'll get him, said Ron, grinding his teeth at Malfoy's back, "one of these days, I'll get him -"
"I hate them both, "said Harry, "Malfoy and Snape." SS-196

7. Because Ron was the only one who stood by him.

From being the most popular and admired people at school, Harry was suddenly the most hated ...Only Ron stood by him. SS-244

8. Because Ron won't let Harry go alone.
"I'll just use the invisibility cloak," said Harry ...
"But will it cover all three of us?" said Ron.
"All - all three of us?"
Oh, come off it, you don't think we'd let you go alone?SS-270

9. Because Ron DID do something
(wingardium leviosa in the girl's bathroom)
Harry: Do something!
Ron: What?
Harry: Anything!

10. Because Ron'll come for him anyway.
"We're coming for you whether the Muggles like it or not ... If they say yes, we'll come and get you at five o'clock on Sunday. If they say no, we'll come and get you at five o'clock on Sunday anyway." GoF36

11. Because having a fight made them realize how much their friendship meant.
"You miss him!" Hermione said impatiently. "And I know he misses you!" Anyone have a pg number?

12. Because Ron was upset too when Harry's Firebolt was confiscated.

13. Because they help each other with Divination homework/
"Okay...on Monday, I will be in danger of - er - burns."
"Yeah, you will be," said Ron darkly, "we're seeing the skrewts again on Monday. Okay, Tuesday, I'll...eerm..."
"Lose a treasured possession," said Harry, who was flicking through Unfogging the Future for ideas.
"Good one," said Ron, copying it down. "Because of...erm...Mercury. Why don't you get stabbed in the back by somebody you thought was a friend?"
"Yeah...cool..." said Harry, scribbling it down ...
"And on Wedensday, I think I'l com off worst in a fight."
"Aaah, I was going to have a fight. Okay, I'll lose a bet."
"Yeah, you'll be betting I'll win my fight .."

14. Because they can talk about "Wonky Faints."
"They wouldn't look twice at him if he couldn't do that Wonky-Faint thing-"
"Wronski Feint," said Harry, through gritted teeth. Quite apart from liking to get Quidditch terms correct, it caused him another pang to imagine Ron's expression if he could have heard Hermione talking about Wonky-Faints. GoF-317

15. Because Harry let Ron ride his Firebolt.

16. Because Ron called Professor Mcgonagall a lot of names that greatly annoyed Hermione
"Ask her now," Ron hissed at Harry.
"Oh, but -" Hermione began.
"Go for it, Harry," said Ron stubbornly.

17. Because Ron stood up for Harry even with a broken leg.
Ron, however, spoke to Black.
"If you want to kill Harry, you'll have to kill us too!" he said fiercely, though the effort of standing upright was draining him of still more color, and he swayed slightly as he spoke.

18.Because they'll have to kill him first before Harry.
"Did you hear me?" Ron said weakly, though he was clinging painfully to Harry to stay upright. "You'll have to kill all three of us!"PoA-339

19. Because Harry didn't go to get a teacher, he went for Ron.
Ron's leg had broken, and a moment later, his foot vanished from sight.
"Harry - we've got to go for help -" Hermione gasped.
"No! That thing's big enough to eat him, we haven't got time -"
All Harry could think of was Ron and what the enormous dog might be doing to him ..PoA-335&337

20. Because Harry couldn't leave when Remus was transforming, because it meant leaving Ron behind.
But Harry couldn't run. Ron was chained to Pettigrew and Lupin. PoA380

21. Because Ron sacrificed himself so that Harry could go on.

22. Because Harry bought the cartfull and shared it with Ron

23. Because Ron saved Harry the trouble of having to open his chocolate frogs

24. Because who else could be Crabbe and Goyle to spy on Malfoy?

25. Because Ron understands that Harry doesn't know everything about the Wizarding world and doesn't mind enlightening him.

26. Because Ron went to the deathday party instead of the Halloween Feast to keep Harry company.

27. Because Harry risked his life to save Ron's sister.

28. Because Ron came in at just the right time to cover for Harry.
Right on cue, Ron came bursting into the office. He was completely out of breath, and stopped just short of Snape's desk, clutching the stitch in his chest and trying to speak.
"I-gave-Harry-that-stuff," he choked. "Bought-it...in Zonko's...ages-ago."

29. Because they can tell what the other is thinking.
It took a few seconds for the absurdity of this statement to sink in. Then Ron voiced what Harry was thinking.
"You're both mental." PoA-349

30. Because Ron wants Harry to stay over at his house.
"Harry, you've got to come and stay with us. I'll fix it with Mum and Dad, then I'll call you. I know how to use a fellytone now -"

"It's the Quidditch World Cup this summer! How about it Harry? Come and stay, we'll go and see it!"
This proposal had the effect of cheering Harry up a great deal.

31. Because Ron's the thing he'd miss most/ Because Harry doesn't want to lose his "Weezy"
"Harry Potter has to go into the lake and find his Wheezy-"
"Find my what?"
"-and take his Wheezy back from the merepeople!"
"What's a Wheezy?"
"Your Wheezy, sir, your Wheezy - Wheezy who is giving Dobby his sweater!...The thing Harry Potter will miss most, sir!...Dobby cannot let Harry Potter lose his Wheezy!" GoF-490

32. Because Ron's indignation on his behalf is worth one thousand points.
And now Karkaroff raised his wand. He paused for a moment, and then a number shot out of his wand too - four.
"What?" Ron bellowed furiously. "Four? You lousy, biased scumbag, you gave Krum ten!"
But Harry didn't care, he wouldn't have cared if Karkaroff had given him zero; Ron's indignation on his behalf was worth about a hundred points to him. He didn't tell Ron this, of course, but his heart felt lighter than air as he turned to leave the enclosure. GoF-360

33. Because there's not as much laughter when Hermione is your best friend.
Harry liked Hermione very much, but she just wasn't the same as Ron. There was much less laughter and a lot more hanging around in the library when Hermione was your best friend.GoF-316

34. Because there's nothing wrong with making up your Divination homework with your best friend and for always cracking jokes behind Professor Trelawney's back.
"I've got two Neptunes here, ... that can't be right, can it?"
"Aaaaah," said Ron, imitating Professor Trelawney's mystial whisper, "when two Neptunes appear in the sky, it is a sure sign that a midget in glasses is being born, Harry ..." GoF-201

35. Because Ron gave Harry his first Chocolate Frog Card.

36. Because many a time has Ron looked just like Harry feels.

37. Because Harry didn't need to hear Ron apologize.
Ron opened his mouth uncertainly. Harry knew Ron was about to apologize and suddenly he found he didn't need to hear it. GoF-358

38. Because all the air vanished from Harry's lungs when he thought Ron had died page 175 in OotP

39. Because Harry believes in Ron's quidditch abilities.
