I know that it's unrealistic if Ron & Harry didn't fight but when they did, it was really heartbreaking to read about because they are such good friends and for them to fight... I just think it's not possible given how fond they are of each other. But it just goes to show that they care enough for one another to fight.

Yeah, and fights are begun when one points out someone else is wrong and that's what true friends do. They step in and criticize their friend when they have done or said something wrong, and care enough to correct them. Even if that means fighting and not talking for a bit.
Their reunion is just made more sweeter. |

And you can see that they do care for each other even during the fight. The GoF fight was the hardest to read but it made it all better with the reunion.

Exactly.
 It was hard for me to read their estrangement in GoF but it was made even better when they reunited and the events following that. Especially the part where Ron would be the thing Harry missed the most. |
