Harry Potter - Draco becoming another Voldemort??

I just bought the "SparkNotes" guide to Sorcerer's Stone. Here's the character description of Draco:

An arrogant student and Harry's nemesis, Malfoy, whose name translates roughly to "dragon of bad faith," is a rich snob from a long line of wizards who feels entitled to the Hogwarts experience. (Note to self: When writing a study guide, show some restraint in the use of clauses.) He makes fun of the poorer Weasley and advises Harry to choose hiw friends more carefully. As the story progresses, Malfoy becomes more and more inimical to Harry and his friends, and there is a hint that he may grow up to be another Voldemort.

Awww, he's not all THAT bad is he? And what hint are they talking about, anyway?

That is just stupid. I don't think that Malfoy is powerful, smart and evil enough to become another Voldemort. Malfoy is just a spoiled, wicked brat, that needs spanking. (NOT IN THE PERVERTED WAY, YOU PERVYS!)

Yeah I really don't see Draco becoing another Voldemort...too whiny and not talented enough.....

If anyone were to become another Voldemort...it would be someone we'd not suspect so far...like A Weasley, or Neville
I don't think that will happen either, I don't think there will be a "next Voldemort" but they are more likely than Draco....

He has the same Nazi-like attitude Voldemort did, but when he was young Voldemort was better at hiding it, and apparently was also a much stronger wizard at that ave than Draco is. Not that we really know much about Draco, really, but we've seen Voldemort at 16 and Draco at 15, and Voldemort seemed much more sinister. Overall, I'd say Draco is way too much of a follower to ever be another Voldemort. But who knows what JKR has planned.

I definitely can't see Draco being another Voldemort. Yeah, he's a mean guy to Harry and his friends, but that's pretty much it: a school bully. I don't think he's got the evilness in him (or, frankly, the brain power - sorry Mermaids, I still love him!) to become an evil mastermind.

I saw this post yesterday and was going to reply but forgot. I think Draco is too much of a coward to ever become another Voldemort. One thing that Voldemort does not lack is guts. Not in a good way but he takes risks. He fought Dumbledore and didn't crumple and start whining.

I agree that Voldemort at age sixteen was much more sinister than Draco is. Draco is a corwardly bully who follows what his father teaches him.

It would never happen. Although Draco may be rude/vindictive and a kind of leader type, i think he doesnt have it in him to become something that vile and wicked.

We don't really know if he's a leader-type, since he only ever leads Crabbe and Goyle, who are particularly weak-minded specimens.
