i knew it....ron would never completely leave....i'm glad he redeemed himself, though a part of me is mad at him for leaving at all in the first place...

hermione's reaction to ron's coming back....was pure comic genius...i laughed really hard at that one....but of course you could understand her frustration....

glad the trio's back & in full swing....the morale has been restored....

I was totally grinning thinking about all the H/Hr shippers getting to finally see them kiss in the last movie when I was reading where Ron was trying to stab the locket. I think JKR threw those fans a bone there, thinking maybe they'll film a kiss for the movie or something.

I was glad Ron came back and finally Harry setting the record straight on the romantic feelings he doesn't have for Hermione and how it's really Ron that she wants to be with. I'm glad that's come to a close, maybe the shippers will stop fighting now that it's pretty much set in stone.

I'm no shipper, but I swear I'm getting antsy for R/Hr to finally kiss or something because this limbo they're living in bugs me, either do it or don't do it and shut up about it.

Can someone elaborate on this a little more? Why did Ron take off........I'm irritated to hear that he was absent for two chapters........the Ron haters are loving it.

Does he properly redeam himself? And how?

I just love Ron so much. I have to wait another week before I can buy the book. I need to hear some good things about Ron.

I would say he redeamed himself. Short story (cause i'm reading the book): Ron saved Harry's life and detroyed a Horcrux. And figured out Dumbledore's Deluminator.

To be quite honest I think it would be a little unrealistic for even dearest and closest of friends under the amount of strain they were in not to have some kind of angst between them. All of them were clearly feeling it. Hermione, Ron, and Harry. And it erupted.

I think those issues had to be addressed before they could move on.

To be honset Ron's return was one of my favorite parts of the book. I mean it's been slowly addressed in the all the books, Ron's feelings of inadaquency, feelings that maybe Harry and Hermione might be better suited or better off without him..feeling that Harry was on top of the world because he could do these amazing things , even though Harry would tell Ron, "Hey it's not all glory pal." .

Ron needed to see for himself that wasn't the case before moving forward. It was an important step in his journey. I mean Harry had this amazing line. When Ron says something about it not feeling so great having defeated this huge task, even though at the end of the day it was an important thing, and Harry says something like. Thats what I've been trying to tell you.

I think that Ron finally got it.

It was a brilliant moment between Ron/Harry.

And when Harry had insight into Ron's fears firsthand.. the way he just said "She cried for a week when you left." I just hit such a cord.

I think Ron leaving needed to happen to get Ron/Hermione/Harry to the next step.

I actually see this being possible one of the best moments between the trio. LOTS of emotion.

ITA Dazzling! And imagine this part in the movie, wow. (Although I am a cynic and so am quite sure that Hollywood will end up changing JK Rowling's words).

I'm happy that Ron's back but aren't they supposed to be asking people questions to make sure that they really are who they say they are, they haven't done that w/anyone besides in the beginning

A BIG for Ron coming back! And I loved Hermione's reaction to it.

Dazzling I totally agree with your post.

You're right about that. I loved how JKR has written Ron and his storyline. Ron realizing that all the things Harry's been doing aren't so cool and glamorous after all needed to happen. The moments after the Horcrux had been destroyed, between Harry and Ron and all three of them, have been a few of my favourite moments so far in the book.

Off to read the next four chapters

Ron's return was one of the most powerful moments on the book, no doubt. JKR is a genius.

For me, along with everything the doe represents.

Bathilda's secret was incredibly gross. I thought she had been broken by magic , but that was horrible.

Dazzling ITA. Couldn't have put it better myself, so I won't try.

My love for Ron increased ten-fold in The Silver Doe.

I thought the Harry and Ron scene was one of the best as well. I thought it was actually natural for them to fight, being stuck together 24 hours a day and not achieving anything. I think he didn't have to redeem himself. I think for Harry it was quite enough that he came back at all. He is his best friend and he just stormed off. Unfortunately, they weren't at Hogwarts where Ron could cool off and come back. And Ron said that he wanted to come back the minute he disapparated. That says a lot I guess.

I got tears in my eyes when he said though that Dumbledore probably knew that he would take off and when Harry said that no Dumbledore knew that Ron would want to come back. Great scene!
