Wow! So much in just the first 4 chapters. If the whole book is like this, it's gonna be jam packed.

Chapter 1: The Death Eaters have totally invaded the Malfoys. And it certainly seems like they don't enjoy it....except Bellatrix who is almost in love with Voldemort it seems. She can't keep those tears in. Poor Draco. It seems to me like he is regretting his position. The way he kepts sneaking those looks at Professor Burbage. And I think it's funny after all Lucius has done or not done, that he is not in Voldermort's good graces. And how on earth does Snape still know all the Order information. I thought he'd be out of the loop now that he's killed Dumbledore. But he certainly seems in the know.

Chapter 2: Dumbledore's obituary made me cry. And it was a wonderful insight into his past. Muggle-hating dad? Interesting. And I'm still dying to know what "a pair of thick, woolen socks" signify. Rita Skeeter is such a horrible person. Why, oh why is she writing this "biography"? Doesn't she remember how Hermioned black-mailed her?? Idiot. And the mirror?????? Can he see Dumbledore?

Chapter 3: The Dursley's are gone. And I officially love Dudley. He's not an idiot after all. I loved Harry's reaction to him also. And what sweet justice is it that they are going to have to have wizards to help hide and protect them? And I just can't believe that if the time came that Voldemore tried to harm them that Harry would just sit back. I wish Petunia would have said something to him. He is her only blood-relative left.

Chapter 4. The 7 Potters LOL. I loved all of them for risking their lives for Harry. Wow. Hedwig is dead. That was Harry's only kinda constant companion for the last 6 years. Sirirus's motorbike certainly has a lot of bells and whistles. AND STANLEY SHUNPIKE A DEATH EATER??? I know he was suspected of it and was sent to Azkaban, right? But is he really a deatheater???? No! And how on earth did they know that Harry was the real Harry??? And HAGRID?? He can't be dead, can he???????????????????????

(I don't think I'm going to sleep tonite!!!)

CourtneyS416 I seem to share the same reactions with in the chapters haha.

I still can't believe that Hedwig died, though! I mean she's been with Harry since book 1 and his company through the summers. I'm gonna miss her

The obituary nearly brought me to tears. Thoug I would had never imagined Dumledore having a such a terrible father though. Must get all of his kindness from his mom's side of the family haha.

And I also think I'm not sleeping tonight haha!

I was surprised that even Fleur was going to act as a Potter. But I guess I shouldn't be since Harry "rescued" Gabrielle in GOF.

The obituary makes me wonder more about Dumbledore's past. I hope that JK sheds some more light on him. Is his brother dead? Did they mention if he was alive still? And how come we've never heard of Doge before if he was so close to Dumbledore?

It makes me kind of hope that Dudley will pop up again on Harry's journey. But it doesn't seem likely.

SO much death in the opening chapters, i was wow, this is dark.

And i was like dudley...how cute!

Yeah! I was stunned by the early deaths. And the Dudley thing was cute, considering how they hated each other in the first few books. It makes you wonder if she had this reconciliation to make up for the darkness of the opening, though.

I loved the Dudley part because it wasn't all that schmaltzy. It wasn't too much. It was Dudley awknowledging that Harry was part of the family without making it like they were closer than they really were.

Also loved that Harry was so happy for Lupin and Tonks. I think a year ago he would have been more bitter and angry that his situation led him to miss out on the event. Shows some growing up, I think.
