Dear Fellow Posters and Friends~

Happy July! Yes, it’s finally here. What an amazing, thrilling, and exciting time for all of us! We’ve all eagerly awaited this moment for a long time. We’ve read the books and watched the movies; written fan fiction and fan letters, drawn fan art, created manips, and made music videos. We’ve stood in line at movie theaters and book stores around the world for midnight releases. These wonderful books, and everything that’s gone along with them, has been a big part of all of our lives.

This post is not to remind all of you to be respectful. It’s not a warning.

It’s a thank you. And I’ll say to you now, it’s an incredibly sentimental (and long) one.

Thank you for being my friends, and for being a part of this absolutely wonderful experience. You have all enhanced my love of the Harry Potter world in uncountable ways. I’d take up too much room trying to thank you all individually and personally, so I decided to start this thread.

It’s not just for me though- this thread is for all of you as well. It’s to express your love for your fandom and your friends. It’s to share good memories. It’s to remind us of the times we laughed together, cried together, had thread parties, and stayed up all night posting because time flies when you’re having fun.

It’s to remind us that we’re all Harry Potter fans- crazy, fanatic, fantastic, artistic, squeeing, enthusiastic, unstoppable, obsessed, in love, hilarious, giving, caring, excited Harry Potter fans. That’s all of us. All of us gathered here on this Fan Forum board, sharing out love of something that means a lot to us. And we didn’t just find friendship- we found understanding. We found people as obsessed as we are! We found people to share with. People to talk to. Let me tell you, that’s a valuable thing. We found people to celebrate birthdays with, to send letters and Christmas cards to, to get through our personal troubles with. We found people to share smiles and give hugs.

So in light of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows being released before we know it (and maybe before we’re ready to let go), let’s use this time to celebrate not just the conclusion of a magnificent series by an author the world owes a bit of its magic to, but to remember, acknowledge, and celebrate our time here as fans and friends.

So, a bit choked up and teary eyed, I open this thread to all of you to express what’s in your hearts. We’ll be each others therapy through these bittersweet days.

And remember: this isn’t the end. What is in your heart is in your heart forever, no matter how bright it shines. The Harry Potter board will be here for years to come. And while posters here may come and go, we are all here together now, and that’s what matters.

- TEH Sidekick party- everything about it was over-the-top amazing
- the fantastic four (Gabi, Ana, Steph, and me)
- writing my HP poems, especially the one celebrating the 25th Visionary thread (although the porno one was fun too. Lol)
- “orgasmic” moments, mostly thanks to Laura
- stuffing grass in pants (again, Laura)
- the Bob!titles phenomenon
- Emma Watson quotes
- Laura’s (still unfinished!) picture story
- the “coincidences” on the Visionary thread
- posting at the same time
- all of the wonderful/beautiful/hilarious thread titles and icons
- writing and getting letters and Christmas cards
- Jess, the Queen of Randomness
- Anna’s beautifully made banners
- plot bunnies,
- and, of course, becoming a mod

Thank you…

- for all of your beautiful responses to my poetry and fiction- you made my heart feel good
- for your kindness, understanding, and sympathy as my friends
- for sharing your real life stories with me
- for embracing me as your mod- it has been a treasured privilege and a true honor
- for understanding and sharing in my love of HP
- for welcoming me when I was new here
- for all of the group hugs
- for all the kind wishes
- for making me know I was a loved and valued friend
- for everything

- Being accepted into Visionaries for the very first time
- The H/L fanfics written by Ana

- When all the Fantastic Four were posting in the thread
- When Visionaries became the sister thread to FAP's Loonies&Lions

- Random off-topic discussions then quickly making them H/L related

I think pretty much all my memories are from the slytherinthread and the harry/draco thread.
All the smutty discussions about who's sleeping with who
The loveslaves (and not to forget the very recent idea about duplicating some people

)
All the fanfics
The totally random comments that soon developed into an orgy of gutterness
And ofcourse all the people in these two threads. Thankyou for just existing

also, thankyou to everyone else.
The moderators, the people I've never talked to but still share my harry potter obsession, the people I've just spoken with a couple of times, the people who was here before but left.
Well, really, just thankyou to everyone who has ever visited this thread and just somehow been a part of this wonderful journey.
You're all wonderful, I wish you all the best and I'll see you around here for a long time to come

wow that defiently got me all teary eyed!!!

there are soooo many memories of this board so dear to my heart i am defiently going to have to sit down and type type and type.

one memory i am going to type for now is the early early threads of draco malfoy and how we used to (and still do) swoon over him even when he was a little midget hahaha!!!

the bob fanatics i will love forever!!!

the crazy crazy gals from the bellatrix lestrange thread how we love our evil!!

being part of such evil evil plots on the slytherin board!!

there are so many i will post when i think of them

for now i want to thank everyone too! there have been times were my days have been so so bad andi come here and you guys truely put a smile on my face it might not seem much but it truely means alot!!

wow we have been together through these books and we will come to the end together sounds corny but its been such an adventure!!!

Great opening post Sam, I'm glad you saved this until now to post because as the release gets closer I feel a real sadness creep in every once in awhile knowing that the end is near and it can become alittle consuming at times. But it's best to focus on what this fandom has created. Friendship. And Jo would be so proud of those of us who choose to concentrate on that instead of wallowing in our sorrows.

Whatever happens on that final page I know I'll be satisfied. Jo has never given me any indication to doubt her talents. In fact as the book progress it's only solidified my belief in her abilities. She's a true talent and I look forward to relishing every single word in Deathly Hallows.

Now onto the fun stuff...

My Favourite Memories.

1) When I first came to this board I struck up a friendship with Ana, Gabi, Jessica and so many others on the sidekick thread. I remember how much fun we had whipping through one thread in one day. Crazy, pervy fun and we loved every minute.

2) Being here for 3 movie releases and so far 1 book release generally just going insane with all the spoilers and news.

3) Meeting all my lovely Leos and making that thread one of the most watched and active threads on the board. I'm tell'n ya, you peeps are smarties. You are the most fun bunch and always look forward to checking our thread every day. Infact when FF goes down, I get ansy because I can't post with you guys.

4) Michelle (Wilpen), one of the strongest friendships I've ever had on FF. I'll keep our PMs sacred and your support has meant so much to me. Love you girl!

5) Becoming Mod. Even though not everyone was thrilled and continue to be sour about it, I'm so proud and delighted that I have this job and I share it with my co-mod and friend Sam.

It's really has be a great ride and I vow to continue to my service as long as Harry Potter entertains my heart. Which will be for a long time (sorry to those who are hoping for otherwise

)

Thank you to all my friends here, all the FF support mods, all those who challenge my theories and speculations and keep me on my toes.

And thankyou Jo! Without your creative mind we wouldn't be here. I'll forever be a Harry Potter fan no matter what.

I don't really know what to say.This place is sacred for me. I've never met such a group of unique, fun, caring and creative people than i've met here. I joined this forum when i was 15....i'm now graduated and going off to college in 3 months. I've experienced 2 amazing years here and hope to experience many more.

It's still amazing to watch how all of us come to together about something we're all so passionate about. I've created many friendships with people that live across the other side of the world.

The sidekickthread has and always will have a special place in my heart. From the crazy parties we had, to experiencing (in my case) 2 movie premieres and now about to experience my second book release, to occasionally making sensible posts(

). The sidekickers here have that extra spunk. We have the same fire and passion like R/Hr do, look life at the bright side(most of the time), have lighthearted conversations, don't take things too serious but also have the same wit, humor and caring personality as my OTP.

People that i'll always love:

Sammie i remember you being one of the first peope welcoming me and making me feel right at ease. You have a very caring and somehow motherly vibe about you that is comforting and relaxing. And what makes you you: your recap posts!

Ana you were the first person that welcomed me.You're sassy, strong opinionated, fun gal who's not afraid to people they're full of crap. I couldn't imagine this forum without you.

Regina i also have known you now for more than 2 years.We had great times together and you're funny and sometimes you're too hard on yourself(the headslap?

) which is ridiculus since you're a great girl. And how can i forget the whip. It is your trademark!

There are more people that come to mind. Like Julia, Amy, Fez, Chrissy,Darcy, Sabrina, Irune and so many more.You all simply rock.

My favorite moments

* Teh best sidekickparty EVER. It was july 21st 2005. JK Rowling had just confirmed R/Hr. The atmosphere at the thread was insane. I belive we went through like 5 threads in 2 days.It was awesome.

* The general excitement before the release of a new trailer , movie and book.

* My dirty pic story which i will continue!!!

...and so many more to type.

Yes, those times are always fun. And the times that random comments turn into thread titles and crazy lists like the "Official List of Visionary Officials" and that completely out of the blue but strangly long-lasting Powers Rangers thing, also on the Visionary thread.

I can't even begin to express how much I love you all, my dear Visionaries. You guys make me even more proud to ship H/L, and we had so many great moments together that the simple memory of them makes me smile. Every one of my stories and arts, even when I mention H/L in real life, I'm reminded of you. Of how amazing, smart, sweet and caring you all are, and how happy I am that I'm able to share the love for this incredible ship with you all. Fan Forum would make no sense to me if I didn't have my Visionary thread to go to every time I come here. I truly love you, Visionaries

I'd like to thank each and every one of the posters, for making this board so wonderful. I remember when I first got here, because Liv told me about this place. I was all shy and hesitant, and the first thread I went to was the Sidekick thread. I still remember how everyone treated me so nicely, and Amy, especially, made me feel incredibly welcome. Sidekicks are LOVE, and I'll be forever grateful for all the good memories

I also remember that in my second/third day here I was already creating a buzz with the Aurors

I was such a silly kid back then, getting into shipper wars and such - we used to be so nasty to each other

And now, when I think about the Aurors, I can only say that I love them. They're such a smart and friendly bunch, and our ship preferences are far from being an issue now - they welcomed me to their thread right after HBP, and they couldn't care less if I shipped H/L and R/Hr. They let me join the discussion and always respected my opinions. Aurors, you are an amazing group of shippers, and this board wouldn't be the same without you!

Leos, I don't have that much contact with you, but I did talk to some of you a few times. It's no secret that I dislike H/G, but your insights about your ship certainly made me respect the shippers much more. Also, great call with changing the ship name to Leos 'cause Doppelgangers was pretty weird

I'm sure I still have MUCH MORE to say, but I think it's good for now. This thread was an amazing idea (Sam or Amy, you should top it!), and it feels great to share the love. I'm really glad that through HP, I got to meet so many amazing people. Posters and lurkers, thank you for being here

The last book is coming, but I feel this is only the beginning for us. We'll still have a lot to share and celebrate. It won't ever be over
