It took place in the present day but Misty was reflecting on the past during the film.

But it wasn't during the present day. The characters were far too old to be in the present. Who'll Stop the Rain was released in 1970, and some of the clothes, and the motorcycle looks to be dated late 60's early 70's. The characters in the present should have been in their mid to late 40's, not their mid to late 70's.

That was the main complaint with the movie with the critics.

The Empire awards are over. Dan didn't attended and also he didn't win. Though David Yates won for Best Director.
