Here's a general werewolf question that I was wondering after reading this thread title (I'm not that up on werewolf folklore) - if a werewolf bites you when they're not in their wolf form, does it still turn you into a werewolf, also? Or do they have to be in wolf form and bite you for that to happen? BtVS seems to imply that the person doing the biting just has to be a werewolf even if not in wolf form, since I think Oz would have noticed his little cousin looking like a wolf when he was bit, but I wasn't sure if that was something the show made up or not.

That's a good question Anla

I hope you don't mind if I post it at the other Howlers thread, it's just that there are more people posting there, and well, to avoid more confusion, I guess.

I don't know how the rules work here, since I don't really post here that much, but I'm getting a little dizy going from one thread to another.

How about if we all move there? That way, we'd have a
steadier flow of conversation.

I hope this works:

David Trewlis on playing Remus Lupin

I'm playing Professor Lupin in the next Harry Potter film. It's a great thing to do after this, because I know it'll get seen and I've got loads of kiddie friends. If you say, 'You'll never guess what I'm doing,' and tell them, they start screaming. And then you tell them, 'You can come to the set and meet Harry Potter,' and they get short of breath. It's worth it just for that."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lupin actor says: 'No Muggles!'

Actor David Thewlis, who plays Professor Lupin in the upcoming third Harry Potter film, has banned Muggles from his house.
The British star has put up a sign in his garden which says "No Muggles Allowed" on the front and "Quidditch Played Here" on the back.

The actor said: "Now kids come by and think I really am Professor Lupin".

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban stars loads of British actors, and should be out in June 2004.

Thewly madly creepy

Terrifying ... in new Potter film

DAVID THEWLIS plays such a scary werewolf in the next Harry Potter film that he was nearly axed as bosses feared he would terrify young cinema-goers.
His character, professor Remus Lupin, spooks Harry and his fellow wizardry pupils when he changes into a monster at the full moon.

His stare and make-up get more intense and he goes into weird spasms. Then a stunt man takes over the part of the nine-foot werewolf, striding around inside a giant costume.

Weird ... David Thewlis

David, who dates ANNA FRIEL, said of his chilling part in The Prisoner of Azkaban: “The directors thought it might be too scary — but kept it.”

I saw this pic the other day and was completely reminded of the scene in PoA where Lupin is leaning over the Marauder's Map, watching the trio, when he suddenly sees that Peter is with them

yeah
and not to choose sides or anything, but I liked the other one much better, much naughtiness was abound there.

But oh, well, I guess I'll just repost my view on the whole werewolf biting thing. As I said, although I'm no expert when it comes to legends and myth, I think that you'd only be "infected" if the werewolf was in wolf form. Would there be some kind of poll or something?

Hey Howlers! Haven't posted here in a while.

OMG!!!! Thanks for posting those pics, shazaam! They're great! I especially love the Ewan one with the floofy werewolf ears and my muffin dressed up as the Big Bad Wolf. He definitely can take a bite any bloody time he wants! Awww. He looks SO ADORABLE!!!!

*huggles her Remus clone, who is a bit miffed that she woke up way to early for his taste this morning and is glaring at her Sirius, Harry, Draco, Lucius, and Severeus clones who manage to STAY asleep*

That's what I was thinking, but I'm trying to remember back to other werewolf movies and shows (there aren't quite as many of them that I can think of as there are vampires ones), and I can think of two examples where someone was infected by a bite of a werewolf in human form. But I don't think I like that theory. Anyway, I was just wondering if someone knew more about the folklore and could answer me about it. My mind sometimes goes off and comes up with strange questions.

I didn't even know there was another thread. I just followed the link from the last one over here. But I guess we're the only one now, right?

I closed the other one because this one had been started first, and also because the title was a bit neater.
