A long, long time ago there lived a boy named Harry Potter. He had this devastatingly tragic life, all made better by a loyal and trusting rapport he had with his best friend Hermione Granger. Little did they know, the loving friendship they shared would turn into something more because of course, there are some things you can't share without liking each other, and knocking out a 12-foot mountain troll is one of them.

I totally agree with you. I think we're all a bit...what's the word I'm searching for here...furious with JK about what she said. Hey, it's her loss not ours. I'm perfectly happy living in my little delusional world of the Harry/Hermione love. She's the one losing fans and money by publically insulting fans. Good job on that one JK!

Definitley! Amen to that! ...That's gonna be my new saying now, whenever a R/Hr person makes a comment to me about our delusional-ness, haha.

Haha, it's like so many of us share the same brain...though not really...cause that would be wierd. As soon as I got done reading the HBP, me and my friend (who is a non-shipper) were talking about this scene. And both completely agreed that HERMIONE (not yelling...just emphasizing) should've been the one to lead Harry away from dumbledore. Even if not as a girlfriend, at least Hermione's just-friend status with Harry has earned the right to be the one to do these kinds of things. It was like Ginny was taking a place that for so long had been Hermione's. Even in the final fight, in the school against the death eaters, Harry noticed Ron and Ginny dodging curses and fighting death eaters. At first I was like, what about Hermione? Ginny should be the one upstairs examing Flitwick and Hermione should be the one downstairs fighting off the death eaters and Harry helping one that's trying to kill her (like in the DoM). Hehe, I kind of went off on a rant...sorry

A Message For My Fellow Aurors, In Light Of You-Know-What concerning You-Know-Which:

Nota Bene: I would like to start by extending my congratulations to the Sidekicks. I speak for the rest of the Aurors when I express our gratitude for those of you who have supported us.

Let the Good Shippers have their celebration.

Do not envy them their success, for they have not seen what we have seen.

We, my fellow Pumpkineers, are the lucky ones.

We have seen Love, pure and true, between two characters that exist only in our hearts. To have seen such utter selfless companionship from SS to OOTP and even HBP--now that is love, something that goes way beyond shipping and snogging.

For better or for worse, Harry and Hermione love each other. No accusation of delusion will ever change that. If (I say IF) Harry and Hermione can't be together in their world (i.e., canon), then it is because their relationship transcends physical desire and tends toward the purely spiritual or ideal. Platonic indeed. Not because they aren't right for each other, but because their love is not meant to be realized in a world that doesn’t understand, that sees "Platonic love as Platonic nonsense".

Sadly, that’s just the way of the world. To them, love is friction, imbalance, fiery passion that toes the line between love and hate. And that is a mistake people make far too often. Let’s be glad we did not make that mistake with HP, although it seems that its own creator is.

So let us count ourselves fortunate, for we have seen Harmony; a balance, an infinity, something that, if it were ever realized, would outshine everything else, if only for a moment.

And if they refuse to see it, then so be it!

We will not reveal it to them. It will be our secret; ours alone.

Whatever happens, we Pumpkineers will understand and love our ship because it is based on Love...

I loved how you worked in a re-buttal to the Platonic quote that was thrown in our faces for so long. If they actual looked up that classic definition for platonic it would be seen as what you wrote there. Platonic love transcends, like Harry and Hermione.

Btw, great choice for the title! I love it that we're showing just how well we're taking our "delusional-ness".
