A long, long time ago there lived a boy named Harry Potter. He had this devastatingly tragic life, all made better by a loyal and trusting rapport he had with his best friend Hermione Granger. Little did they know, the loving friendship they shared would turn into something more because of course, there are some things you can't share without liking each other, and knocking out a 12-foot mountain troll is one of them.

Oi, and we're talking about how it'd be fun if Dan and Emma started a band with Tom Felton and Matt Lewis (Neville). But before then, I'd just settle for Dan and Em doing a duet.

If anything, if both of them can *really* sing and carry a tune, then they'd sound *great* together.

Me, I am drawn to anyone with talent. Singing, acting, playing a musical instrument ... drawing....

Those get me so badly. Which is why I'm falling in love with Adam Pascal more and more by the minute. Good god the man can SING. Like whoa, Rock'N'Roll. I actually think Harry would like musicals, though he might have to get dragged to his first one by Hermione before he enjoys them.

But Dan will always have a place in my heart. Dan, Dan/Emma, and H/Hr.

You know what I was thinking about today? How we Aurors tend to go through musical obsessions simultaneously.

Seriously, think back to the days of Cancun. It was Lifehouse. Lifehouse was our obsession. Every song that was posted that was "soo Harry and Hermione omg..." was by Lifehouse.

And then we went through our Coldplay stage. Coldplay this, Coldplay that.

Have a song to rec? Coldplay. Shiver. Don't Panic. Trouble. Yellow. Coldplay inspired as much fic as Lifehouse did elopmentments...

And then somehwre in between I was obsessed with Starsailor and I made y'all like them too.

Oh! And let's not forget the MOULIN ROUGE phase.

Breaking out randomly into song? Total Auror thing.

Now its The Killers, and I doubt we're done obsessing over them. Those other phases were very drawn out ones, so we need to draw this one out as well...

In the interim, I shall be planning what other band I sha'll drive y'all crazy with.

You're right Belle. Us Aurors go through music phases pretty much together. I can't hear a Coldplay or a Lifehouse or a Starsailor song without remembering you guys.

And Brandon singing the Phantom would be cool.

I vote the next band to be either Maroon 5 or Blessid Union of Souls but that's just me. Or we can just obsess over AIDA with Harry as Radames, Ginny as Amneris, and Hermione as Aida --- three guesses about how this love triangle ends up.

Dan should so name his band that ....

Belle- Reading all your stuff about The Killers made me look into them cuz I only knew "Somebody Told Me". So now I had my friend download all the songs and so then she is gonna give them to me. So I haven't heard them yet, but I'm sure I will like them. It is my type of music so I am excited. hehe.

Now I'm gonna go dream about Emma, Dan, and Tom in a band together with Dan on the hot sexy bass

I thereby name Dan's Band Genius Sex Poets. He can rename it later if he wants and if we let him.

I will love it if Dan actually ends up in a band. And if Emma ends up in the same band *or* in the West End or maybe ,... Broadway? There's just something about belting out show tunes.

ETA:

AIDA"s totally awesome. "I Know The Truth" is a good song. I personally got my philosophy that "every story is a love story" from this musical; that's the title of the opening song ... and there's also "My Strongest Suit" and "Written in the Stars".

The story of AIDA is that Egypt and Nubia were at war and Egypt took Nubians as prisoners .... Radames (an Egyptian) was all set to marry Amneris but he falls in love with the Nubian Princess Aida who is now a slave and (if I remember correctly) a handmaiden to Amneris ... so Amneris finds out and then I think she passed a sentence on Radames and Aida ... and Radames and Aida meet again in a future life (as the people were big on the immortality of the soul) .... So y'all see why Ginny's Amneris and Hermione's Aida?

I don't think I'll ever stop obsessing over The Killers. They're just ingenious guys! So sweet! And their music just rocks...

You know, I love it when songs tell stories. Twisted, warped stories.

Like The Police. I *love* Every Breth You Take. (I am my father's daughter

) And I find it odd that people play this song at weddings and stuff like that, and proclaim it "their song."

The song is about a FRICKIN STALKER!

So this guy doesn't *love* the chick. It isn't about "true love" or any kind of love at all...its about infatuation, obsession. Very unhealthy...

And Roxanne? SHE WAS A WHORE! How can you dedicate this song to the woman you love on Valentine's Day? Unless you're a complete idiot...

But yeah, they tell STORIES, and I love that. Most music today isn't about the storytelling; just a bunch of pretty words that sound catchy when fit together.

The Killers tell stories. The Murder Trilogy...guy loves girl. She is cheating on him. He finds out. He strangles her. Throws her body into the ocean...

But we still don't know the motivation behind it (as we are one song short). Was he drunk? In Jenny was a friend of mine he says "there ain't no motive for this crime" so was it an accident? Or done in a fit of drunkeness, so as to say that it wasn't premeditated? Was she really cheating on him? Or was it just paranoia, and that was why there was no motive...

It's all very compelling. I'm amazed Mr. Brrightside doesn't fit into this trilogy, but of course it's the complete opposite of everything. In that song he just accepts that cheating sleaze of woman, he doesn't kill her...

I can't wait to see James Spader do the mini-movie.
