A long, long time ago there lived a boy named Harry Potter. He had this devastatingly tragic life, all made better by a loyal and trusting rapport he had with his best friend Hermione Granger. Little did they know, the loving friendship they shared would turn into something more because of course, there are some things you can't share without liking each other, and knocking out a 12-foot mountain troll is one of them.

Gosh! I've really missed the HP fandom. I wanna go back and re-read PoU/STNE (SWITCHBLADE!)/HWTF so I can remember why I love fanfic. I've still been reading fanfic, but it's been RPS of The Libertines!! Yeah yeah...I said I would never read slash, yet I write RPS! Go figure!! I'm up to date with Liss' stuff, though. I've read some of her cookies, and I have her friended on LJ.

I still keep up with Lori's stuff. I read tons of Fanfic. The best I have ever come across though is Lori's PoU fantastic writing! I'm reading a couple of other good fics. I'll have to put links here later when I'm at home.

What is it with everyone coming to Germany?

Not that I don't want you guys here. I just think it's funny. There are at least 4 people I know that will be coming to Germany in the next couple of months.

And Lauren, I saw on the old Auror thread you are worried about when you will get to read HBP since you'll be in Germany when it's published. I don't know where in Germany you're going to be, but if it's a bigger city they will sell the book in any large bookstore. If not you can always go and order it from any bookstore. And then there's Amazon.de

So don't worry. You'll get to read HBP right when it's published

I loved Germany when I went. I spent a month in Berlin in college and really loved it!

Cara, I'm going to Berlin on a work placement for a year. I have HBP pre-ordered already, so my mum is gonna send it over to me when it arrives here. I just know I'm not gonna be able to read it as fast as I did OoTP (9 1/2 hours on release day!).

I really wanna read fanfic now...le sigh.

I went to a college called Hollins University we had a January term and they did a month trip to Germany one year so that is when I went. It was great!

My teacher had lots of friends who were in the German film industry so we met with them, went to museums, check point Charlie, lots of tours. I was there in 1999. One of the things that I remember the most about Berlin was all of the construction! That and seeing the red lines where the wall use to be.

Loz you will have a great time! Wow a whole year in Berlin!

No way!

You wanna meet up some time? That would be cool. And Lysha (Luinélwen) will arrive in Germany in August. She'll be somewhere up north by the Baltic Sea. But she's definitely gonna come visit me. The three of us could go and watch GoF together

(If you want to watch movies don't go to just any movie theater. Believe me, the German dubbing is horrible. Go to the Cinestar in the Sony Center at Potsdamer Platz - the play movies in their original version

Lauren, why have your Mum send the book here? You will be able to buy it in any bookstore here in Berlin. The book should be about 16 €, that's about 1,50 € more than in the UK. But it would probably cost more than € 1,50 or £ 1 to ship a book from the UK to Germany.
