A long, long time ago there lived a boy named Harry Potter. He had this devastatingly tragic life, all made better by a loyal and trusting rapport he had with his best friend Hermione Granger. Little did they know, the loving friendship they shared would turn into something more because of course, there are some things you can't share without liking each other, and knocking out a 12-foot mountain troll is one of them.

[SCENE: Great Hall]

[HERMIONE walks in, dressed in sleeveless black knee-high dresses, white gloves and sheer pantyhose (Beholder does not know anything about clothes, so she apologizes if that description is too vague). She sits down at the Gryffindor table.]

[Looking very nervous, HERMIONE pulls out a copy of “Dating For Dummies” out of nowhere and frantically begins reading, pausing to burst into tears now and then.]

[GINNY enters, wearing the same clothes as HERMIONE. She is still flush from her victory over CHO, smiling from ear to ear. She approaches HERMIONE and takes away the “Dating For Dummies” book.]

[Dialogue]

GINNY: Hermione, what are you doing?

HERMIONE: I’m studying.

GINNY: Silly! You can’t study for a DATE! Besides, it’s just ickle Ronniekins! Not Krum or McLaggen!

HERMIONE: Oh really? Tell me then, why did my Yule Ball date end so horribly?

[HERMIONE bursts into tears. GINNY is surprised at how bipolar her friend is.]

GINNY: Oh…um…it wasn’t your fault, you know.

HERMIONE: He insulted me! And now I actually fancy him! How did that happen?

GINNY: Um…hormones?

HERMIONE: (mysteriously) No, Ginny. Not hormones. ANVILS!!

GINNY: Huh?

HERMIONE: (runs around screaming) Sucking Lavender’s face off! PRAT! I’ll teach HIM how to suck Lavender’s face off in front of me!

GINNY: Uh, Hermione, you’d better pull yourself together…I hear footsteps…

HERMIONE: (drearily) No worries, Gin. I’d know those footsteps anywhere. It’s only Harry.

GINNY: (brightening up, completely forgetting about HERMIONE’s distress) Oh, good! He’s on time!

[GINNY climbs up onto the Gryffindor table. HERMIONE reluctantly follows her example.]

[CUE Lively ragtime piano music. A spotlight reveals Su Li (a canon, yet otherwise unknown Ravenclaw) playing the piano off to the right.]

[BEGIN SONG: “Steppin’ Out” (based on “Steppin’ Out With My Baby” by Irving Berlin)]

GINNY:
Here’s Harry looking for his baby
That’s ME, for sure, and not for maybe

[Two more spotlights appear and shine down on HARRY and RON, coming from stage right. Both are dressed in tuxedos, and black silk top hats. They climb up onto the Gryffindor table to join the girls. HARRY sidles up to GINNY, RON to HERMIONE.]

HARRY: (in an oh-so-studly tenor)
Steppin’ out with my Ginny
The monster in my chest
Roared out loud, when she kissed me:
”She likes me!” Screw all the rest!

RON: (in an equally studly, though somewhat surprised, baritone)
Steppin’ out with Her-my-knee
Yet we’ve not had a fight!
Though they say, she really likes me
Are you sure that that is right?

HARRY & RON:
Got a double date, so we’re trimming our sails
In our top hats and our white ties and our tails…

GINNY & HERMIONE: (unison)

[HARRY and RON throw off their tuxedo jackets and top hats. HARRY swings GINNY in a dance (RON follows suit with HERMIONE), which he isn’t really good at, since Parvati wasn’t exactly the best dance teacher. RON and HERMIONE, surprisingly, are having more success with their dancing; RON is blushing bright red, and HERMIONE is refusing to look RON in the face, instead opting to look down at their feet]

[While HARRY, GINNY, RON, and HERMIONE are dancing, LUNA and NEVILLE come from stage left, and remain in the shadows until the song ends]

HERMIONE:
I’m steppin’

RON:
Out with Her-my-knee

HARRY:
I’m steppin’

GINNY:
Out with my Harry

[RON twirls HERMIONE]

RON:
Steppin’ out with Her-my-knee

HERMIONE:
Yet we’ve not had a fight!

I loved Hermione's lines. Can't wait for the next part.

Here's a question i kinda gacked from the Kickers thread. When did y'all first start shipping H/Hr?. I was teetering on the edge all the way through book 1. Then i read the "You're a great wizard" scene and i was sold

The movie only confirmed it for me. Dan and Emma just clicked, even way back as 11 year old cuties. I remember thinking "Dude, this is IT. This is the type of love that lasts forever"

And after that i made it my mission to go through every book to find H/Hr moments, read every bit of fanfic i could get my hands on and squeed every time i saw D/E together. I thought it was so obvious. Needless to say, when i first got internet access and discovered that H/Hr wasn't the majority ship, i was more than a little shocked

But i didn't let that stop me, and i never will.

So what about you guys? When did you all fall under the spell?

Yay new thread!

I think I fell for H/Hr in book 1. I definitely think the relationship has grown through the books as a romantic one, imo. JK obvously doesn't have the same idea, but that's how it is in my brain.

The movie have only reinforced my Aurorness. Dan and Emma, or DEMMA, as I like to call them have the best chemistry! Like everyone else had said, it may not be canon, but the movies more than make up for that. If they do make HBP, the movie, I seriously don't think Rupert and Emma will have the same romantic chemistry. Just my opinion

BTW, did anyone hear something about the trio not being able to make OOTP because of some British law?? I heard that somewhere on some program and never got the whole story.

I first started shipping H/Hr after I saw SS the movie. Then CoS movie confirmed it for me with the end scene hug... for crying out loud they looked like they were hugging the lives out of each other! Then I read the books...PoA sealed it for me. I guess it didn't help that I was coming off of a Dawson/Joey kick at the time....

Ugh, the dumbest thing happened to me at work today. I work at a sports store and one of my colleagues came up to me, handed me a volleyball and told me that there was a small crack in it because someone inflated it too hard. Anyway, I bend my face closer to take a better look and just as I was about two inches away, the damn thing exploded right in my face!

One of the parts hit me right above my right eye and it's so swollen now that I can barely open it.

It must have looked funny to the customers, though. The bang was so loud that I practically jumped out of my skin and toppled over backwards.

Anyway, hope you guys had a better day.

when did I was "under Spell of H/hr"
I saw first movie first...and I thought D/E had very "Great Chermistry" and it that part of movie when Hermione/Emma said: "You are Great Wizard you really are" and H/Daniel answer: "Not as good as you" and I was *Squeeing" so loud from that part that people in movie theater that I was "nut"

and after that I ran to bookstore and buy me first Hps books and I thought it was one of best book that I ever read. ANd rest you so-called "History"

you can said I am more of D/E ship then H/hr ship because of how they act, look and good together.

OK just have to rant

I promise that I'll be god Mods...

Alright, Why are other people telling us to Get over our dissapointment with how things turned out? The book only came out 2 weeks ago. There are people who are taking their time with it, haven't finished, haven't gotten their copy yet. I say that we should be allowed to gripe as long as we want to. Also we Aurors are being painted in a negative light. Other shippers think that we all signed petitions or that we all are writing letters to JKR threating harm to her, or her book. I'm sorry, but I have every right to be dissapointed in this latest installment. I am also getting annoyed at people telling me that HP is not a romance series and therefore we should not be focusing on the romantic plot lines. I KNOW ITS NOT A ROMANCE NOVEL! How do I know? Because Harry isn't wearing a half open shirt, holding Hermione in a very flattering dress that accentuates her assets, with hair blowing in the wind, and them having looks of desires on their faces! There were a lot of other things that I was dissapointed in more so than the coupling. Why do these thoughts/beliefs/opinions get forgotten? Because the minute we identify ourselves as h/hr shippers it seems that ALL of our ideas/thoughts/beliefs/opinions don't matter because they have all been skewed by h/hr bias.

One last thing to rant on, I think H/G is done..they aren't getting back together. I'll post my thoughts on that later. As for R/Hr...before HBP I coudl see it being a possibility, but that Ron had to grow up and mature. After HBP, I think that Ron still needs to mature in the respects that he needs to be aware that his actions are hurting Hermione...if he does indeed like her. I'm trying not to bash Ron, I think he's a great sidekick, but when it comes to how he treats Hermione (the girl he supposedly has the hots for) IMO he deserved that flock of birds attacking him long before HBP. I just want soem proff that Ron has ever supported, cared for, understood, stood beside, protected, and valued Hermione for who she is and waht she stands for. As far as I'm concerned he needed to tackle that obstacle since book 4, and he has yet o make any improvements in my mind.

Ok...end rant... Sorry Mods if that was too harsh. I apologize. I tried to keep it somewhat calm.

I'm going back to Portkey where my spirits can be lifted...

I don't think there was a specific moment for me in which I decided, "Hey, it's Harry and Hermione, no matter what." When I finished the first three books (I was maybe 12) I just knew that was how it was going to end up. Then I found the Aurors on FF and was happy just to read what everyone else said about this couple. I didn't understand how it could end up as anyone else.
