I saw the last thread was over 250 so I thought I'd start the new one before I head to bed. I hope the title is OK. If not, let me know.
Nora brought up the point that Hermione is always the last one to say goodbye to Harry at the train station - a little piece of information that may seem insignificant but in fact may have great meaning (like so many things with H/Hr  ). The title refers to the Harry and Hermione's conversations always being the last and lingering moments for the two of them at the train station.  |

I think I’ve had a few When did you first get into the books? Just before CoS…so, end of 2002 Favorites: Book PoA, GoF and OotP. Cant decide! Over-all character Fred and George. They count as one! Student Hermione Gryffindor Harry Slytherin Draco Ravenclaw Luna I spose. Hufflepuff Cedric Professor Dumbledore Owl Pig. So cute! Adult Lupin Quote Everything Fred and George say. Ever. Marauder Lupin Creature Buckbeak, I spose Class Potions! Pairing Harry and Hermione, all the way. Evil character Snape! Pairings and romance: How do you feel about romance in the books? I like it, as long as it’s realistic. Do you think it makes it feel like a fanfic? No. Romance does happen outside fanfic, after all… How do you feel about Harry/Ginny? Don’t really care either way but it’s a bit too weird. What about Ron/Hermione? Hell no. Draco/Hermione? It’s an interesting prospect (although JK confirmed it’s not gonna happen). Draco/Ginny? Another interesting possibility Harry/Draco? Only in ‘Trading Spaces’! Where it seems so…right. Luna/Ron? Why not? I’m not seeing it yet, though. Cho/Harry? Um, no. Dumbledore/McGonagall? My name's Jennifer, but everyone calls me Jen. I've always been a shipper of Harry and Hermione ever since my first reading of the Philosiphers Stone. I think the wonderful bond they have is totally obvious and a joy to see. There's just so much potential for romance. R/Hr is an adolescent crush that will burn out as quickly as it begins. H/Hr have the kind of deep and mature love that will last a lifetime. Hi, Jennifer, welcome. I'm a newbie, too, I love all things HP and especially Harry and Hermione, the Auror thread is pretty terrific!
Had to work my nursing job last couple of days so I didn't get to post much last thread but thanks again for using my siggy as thread title on the thread before that one. I read through the last thread and it was a great thread. Reread POA recently and I was noticing how much more Auror the movie was than the book. The book was fantastic and of course more richly detailed...I know some don't like the fact that much was left out...mainly concerning the Mauraders...but I just loved the Harry and Hermione dynamic so much more in the movie...I keep thinking how JKR doesn't want to give it away, just give us clues...well, I see Harry and Hermione as so connected and Hermione is so in touch with knowing all the time how Harry is feeling, that can only lead to a mature, meaningful love. I don't think Hermione could feel anything even close to love for anyone else but Harry. Now boys take a little longer to get in touch with their feelings...I understand the Cho thing in GoF and OotP but in the end it'll be Hermione for him. I don't see how any other women could compete and believe me no other woman would put up with Harry's obvious connection with Hermione (as demonstrated by Cho in OotP). And like others have said, when friendship leads to love, it's a powerful thing. The foundation of trust that you build is hard to break, the familiarness, the depth of understanding and the feeling of oneness can be amazing. I think when two people have a deep friendship and that becomes love, something happens when they are near one another...a kind of connection of the mind...we've only just begun to understand how the brain works...I think there's a mental connection we can't see and that's why things happen like finishing each other's sentences, thinking the same thoughts, and knowing instinctively what the other is feeling. I see that in Harry and Hermione big time. And it's only going to get stronger! Okay, I've rambled enough, been reading some lovely fanfic and I'm just loving all the grown-up H/Hr stuff...wow, there are some amazing writers out there! Be back later! hammergal __________________

hammergal - That was so beautifully put and it's soooo true. I know R/Hers say that it's just because they're very good friends and it doesn't mean love, but why doesn't either of them have that with RON? He doesn't have that connection to Harry OR Hermione. And from what I've heard, JKR seems to be a hopeless romantic so why would she choose to put Hermione with someone she's only got two things in common with, Harry and bitching, over someone whom Hermione shares a deep connection with?
