A long, long time ago there lived a boy named Harry Potter. He had this devastatingly tragic life, all made better by a loyal and trusting rapport he had with his best friend Hermione Granger. Little did they know, the loving friendship they shared would turn into something more because of course, there are some things you can't share without liking each other, and knocking out a 12-foot mountain troll is one of them.

This thread title is cracking me up.

Meant to say earlier... one of my students was using the computer behind my desk today (where the Harry Potter poster hangs proudly) and he said, "I think Harry and Hermione are gonna get married." I wanted to hug him, but that would have been inappropriate.

Then my 7th period, the group where we're actually using it in class, I asked them to write their own ending to book 7, the very last paragraph and all of them said they wanted Harry to die! I was rather distraught about this and felt the need to post immediately, but alas, I'm just now letting you know.

Anyway... fun times with 8th graders.
