Official SIN CITY thread A clip, and pics
Well well since sin city stuff seem to be coming our way i thought i´d start the thread for the movie.
A clip with josh scene in whole note you need a quicktime player to watch it but boy he looks SO SO good little sad that he´s only in the beginning of the movie but i did read somewhere that perhaps he´s in the end as well. So if you watch this clip you´ll most likely see is part or a big part of josh´s role in the movie, i don´t know if this we see here is the entire scene or just a part of it. But it´s so so so so worth these movie looks like nothing i´ve seen before way cool Last edited by ellavm; 09-12-2004 at 12:31 AM |

Sin City offical cast news from Yahoo!
Release Date: TBA 2005 (wide) MPAA Rating Note: (4/7/04) If this movie is faithful to Frank Miller's graphic novels, this movie will surely receive a "hard" R rating for excessive graphic violence and nudity. Distributor: Dimension Films Cast: Mickey Rourke (Marv), Bruce Willis (Hartigan), Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, Maria Bello, Kate Bosworth, Steve Buscemi, Benicio del Toro, Michael Douglas, Carla Gugino (Lucille), Josh Hartnett, Jaime King (Goldie), Brittany Murphy (Shellie), Marley Shelton, Christopher Walken, Elijah Wood; other cast not announced yet. Director: Robert Rodriguez ( ) Screenwriter: Robert Rodriguez ( ) and Frank Miller Based Upon: (4/7/04) This movie is based upon the "Sin City" graphic novels by Frank Miller. In particular, the three stories that are being adapted are the original "Sin City," "The Babe Wore Red," and "Those Yellow Bastards." Premise: Sin City is a violent city where the police department is as corrupt as the streets are deadly. In this movie, we follow three stories, the central of which is Marv, a tough-as-nails and nearly impossible to kill street fighter who goes on a rampage of vengeance when a beautiful woman, Goldie (King), he sleeps with for only one night is killed while lying in bed with him. Filming: Production started on April 5th, 2004 in Austin, Texas. The production got its start when Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller shot the first scene of the movie, featuring Marley Shelton and Josh Hartnett, as a test to prove that they could capture (something like) the look of Miller's art on film. Genre: Action, Based on a Book, Crime, Eye Candy http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hp&cf=prev&id=1808560209 |

Here ya go.
Like I said in the other thread, there are certain roles you don't associate with actors of a certain age. The character in the graphic novel is slicker and more suave than one would expect a person of Hartnett's age to be. Hopefully, you'll never see a 25 year old James Bond (unless its a prequel). If I read the words that Hartnett says, I would immediately assume that he is too young for the role. The narration belongs to a Bogart or Holden type, if you ask me. But watching it, he did a great job with his scene, and honestly, I've never liked HArtnett that much, but that doesn't mean I won't give him credit when he deserves it. He pulled off a character that by all rights he is too young for. So good job, Josh Hartnett! But Marv would stil rip his character's head off (Mar'vs the guy with the bandages on his face). |

Sin City Site
Official site launched for Frank Miller adaptation. February 16, 2005 - The official site for Dimension Films' Sin City is now live! A number of the site's features are still under construction, but fans will definitely want to check out the characters section for some really cool multimedia vignettes showcasing the major characters. Sin City is a highly stylized adaptation of Frank Miller's long-running, critically-acclaimed graphic novel series. It's based on three of Miller's stories; Sin City, That Yellow Bastard and The Big Fat Kill. The film stars Bruce Willis as Hartigan, a cop with a bum ticker and a vow to protect stripper, Nancy (Jessica Alba); Mickey Rourke as Marv, the outcast misanthrope on a mission to avenge the death of his one true love, Goldie (Jamie King); and Clive Owen as Dwight, the clandestine love of Shelly (Brittany Murphy), who spends his nights defending Gail (Rosario Dawson) and her Old Towne girls (Devon Aoki and Alexis Bledel) from Jackie (Benicio Del Toro), a tough guy with a penchant for violence. Elijah Wood, Nick Stahl, Michael Madsen, Carla Gugino, Michael Clarke Duncan and Josh Hartnett are also part of the ensemble cast. Frank Miller wrote the screenplay and co-directed the film with Robert Rodriguez. Sin City hits theaters on April 1st. http://www.sincitythemovie.com/ |
