Spoiler:
Great episode we got tonight.

I think that it is one of the best episodes of Dollhouse to date. It was very fast paced with plenty of great action and suspense along with some emotional stuff.

I thought that Echo, Sierra, Victor and Mellie worked very well together during the escape. They did a good job of keeping their cool for the most part during all the tense situations. Having them splitting up gave us a great view of the escape from their perspectives.

I`m officially converted as a Sierra/Victor. They were so great together. I loved how Victor looked out for Sierra when she had a flashback for her ordeal and went out of his way to get some payback for her. That is perfect proof that Victor is boyfriend material. Plus the kiss really put them over the top.

Mellie`s situation with her trying to find her daughter Katie was very sad, especially when she came to her headstone in the graveyard. I thought that it was a great look at the emotional cost of the Dolls escaping. However i have a feeling that Katie is alive.

Echo`s standoff with Topher and Adele was a great game of cat and mouse between the three of them. Echo staying behind was a nice continunition from last week`s episode.

The ending with Echo, Sierra, Victor and Mellie going into sleep mode just as they were about to take the next step to escape was bittersweet to watch. At the same time it showed that the Dollhouse still has a hold over them with their brains still programmed.

However escape hopes are still alive with Paul getting that message from Echo, which was a perfect way to end the episode.

So in all i thought that tonight`s episode is one of the best episodes of Dollhouse to date. It had a nice balance of great action, suspense, emotional scenes and plenty of intrigue to speculate about. Next week`s episode looks very intriguing with the Dolls having to find a spy inside the Dollhouse. I have a feeling that it`s someone very unlikely (i.e. Dominic).

Okay, so I had to come here...because I like to read your reviews. Leaves better discussion than someone who just writes, "What a great episode..."

Spoiler:
I've been a small shipper of Victor/Sierra. We've only really been able to ship them in their doll-like state, which doesn't say a whole lot. But it showed that even some of that carried over into their true personalities. Like when he felt the need to protect her, and she remembered that he always waited for her when they were going into the pods. I thought that was very sweet, and I love the kiss at the end.

And Mellie's daughter was just heartbreaking. After seeing that, I almost couldn't see Adelle or the Dollhouse as the 'bad guy'. I mean, maybe they're right. These people volunteered for this. A forced way for them to move on, I guess. I can see why Mellie would volunteer to be a doll, so she didn't have to remember or go through the pain of when she lost her daughter. But I think Sierra might be a little more complicated, considering we found that the guy 'sold' her, and gave her away? I'm sure that's definitely not the last we'll see of that guy.

Paul was obviously dreaming about Echo... But it was still a nice scene to give us. That was what made him suspicious about the bug in the first place, right? And the scene at the end, where she called him...I'm glad that they put that in. We see her rumaging through Claire's desk, and then the power gets knocked out...so I can assume that's around the time that she did that, Adelle just didn't see it. But she remembered him, and I think that has a lot of importance. Especially since there was a lot they still forgot.

Oh, and Topher! You bad boy. I'm really glad that Echo called him out on playing God. He claims to just be the tech guy, but no. He's just as bad as Adelle. He imprints all of them however, and doesn't care for the dolls like Boyd or Claire does. He was willing to make them "test" subjects, without a second thought. And yet, even now, I'm sure he'll just go right back to what he's doing, without a care in the world.

So, next week...who do you guys think is the spy? I still say it's the lab assistant, Ivy!

Spoiler:
I agree with you on Topher. He doesn`t seem like the stereotypical mad scientist, but still he shows no regard for the Dolls` emotional well beings. I would love to see his background explored in a future episode.

I think that Sierra is a runaway that got mixed up with the wrong people, who got her into the Dollhouse program.

As for who the spy could be, i personally think that it`s someone in the security team or one of the handlers, except for Boyd, who will obviously be out of the loop.

I'm actually still trying to figure out how/why Sierra was forced into the Dollhouse. Was that guy her ex-boyfriend, husband, boss...? She could've been a runaway, but from what? My sister said that maybe he was her pimp, or something.

And yeah, I can agree that I definitely don't think it's Boyd. I just think it's the lab assistant because Topher did show her the personality that he was putting into Echo, that was going to kick Paul's ass in 1x06. And then Topher walked away to go talk to Boyd, leaving her with all the time in the world to imprint that message to Paul. But we'll see!

We don`t want to spoil it for folks like Nath whose countries don`t air Dollhouse and has to wait at least a day or two to watch the episodes online. It`s part of our service to look our for our fellow Dollhouse fans around the world.

I agree. Who do y`all think is the mole inside the Dollhouse? I`m leaning toward Topher`s assistant in the lab. However i have a feeling that it will be someone we least suspect.

I'm going to laugh if it's her. She use to be on NCIS and ended up being a mole. Twice in a row can't be good for her

Dollhouse: One Episode Won't Air
Why FOX won't be showing the last episode produced this season.
by Eric Goldman

April 9, 2009 - The last day saw a lot of panic spring up among Joss Whedon fans regarding the end of the season of Dollhouse and whether or not FOX was going to be airing the season finale. Most had thought of Season 1 as containing 13 episodes – yet the episode being promoted as the season finale, "Omega," would only be the 12th to air.

Lots of speculation followed, including fans -- still remembering FOX's shoddy treatment of Firefly -- wondering if FOX was going to air every episode except the one actually intended as the season finale or were skipping over another episode, leaving it unaired, in order to air the finale earlier.

The actual answer is… a bit confusing.

As reported on by both Alan Sepinwall and Eonline's Kristin Dos Santos (and confirmed by Dollhouse's Tim Minear on Whedonesque) the issue goes back to the original Dollhouse pilot – you know, the one ultimately discarded.

That episode was paid for by FOX, the network, as part of the 13-episode order they gave the show. Because of that, FOX will be only airing the remaining 12 episodes they paid for. However, 20th Century Fox, the studio that produces Dollhouse, decided to order and pay for an additional thirteenth episode on their own - though because of the discarded pilot, this is really the fourteenth episode produced. See, I told you it was confusing.

Explains Minear, "Because we scrapped the original pilot -- and in fact cannibalized some of its parts for other eps -- we really ended up with 12 episodes. But the studio makes DVD and other deals based on the original 13 number. So we created a standalone kind of coda episode. Which is the mythical new episode 13. The network had already paid for 13 episodes, and this included the one they agreed to let us scrap for parts. It does not include the one we made to bring the number back up to 13 for the studio side and its obligations. We always knew it would be for the DVD for sure, but we also think Fox should air it because it's awesome."

This additional episode, "Epitaph One" is apparently very standalone in nature – said to be similar in tone to the "Restless" episode of Buffy that concluded Season 4, after that show had wrapped up its main storylines for the year. Everyone seems to agree that Episode 12 of Dollhouse, "Omega," the last one FOX is airing this season, will wrap up the season long arc of the series.

Unfortunately, Whedon alum Felicia Day (Buffy / Dr. Horrible), who guest stars in "Epitaph One," apparently was not informed when she filmed the episode of its unique status – a lot of fans were initially in an uproar following Day's Twitter update reading, "Found out my Dollhouse ep, #13 isn't gonna air. Only on DVD. Such a great part too. Thx Fox."

While Dollhouse's future and whether or not it will get a second season has not been officially announced, Dos Santos says a network source told her the situation regarding the unaired episode, "has no bearing whatsoever on whether or not they pick up the series for a second season," and is told that the show's fate is "100 percent in the decision phase."

Regardless, it seems that the upcoming Season 1 DVD set of Dollhouse will contain "Epitaph One," though fans are also still curious as to whether the DVD will contain the original, unaired pilot.

Hm, I'm fine with that. Sounds like a Restless-type of episode to me! I did like what they did at the end of Btvs s4 - do a big showdown earlier and have the finale serve as a slower pacing conclusion.

I think i'm leaning towards Topher. He's the one you would least expect given that he seems to get off on being the know it all. Maybe they aren't paying him enough.
