Right along the alley of the mature songs, I was burning the midnight oil (well, actually, the early morning oil) the other day when "Imagine" unexpectedly played on the radio. I'd never heard it for the longest time (I deleted it from my player 'cause I'd get queasy and nostalgic), and so there:

Oi...I feel that way too with Imagine. Everytime I hear it on my windows media player I tear up. That, along with Oh my Love and How....and Mind Games and Jealous Guy....pretty much any of John's songs bring a tear to my eye, they mean the world to me. George's songs too....but I must say that after a while everytime I'm sad I play Here Comes the Sun and since I'm already sad it makes me feel better....it's comforting. It really helped me last week when I was thinkin about me family and me dad n stuff...so confusing, I just played the song once and I felt a bit better....I don't know where'd be without The Beatles' music...

Sometimes, I don't listen 'cause they make me feel bad.

It's strange because even though I've grown up in a world where John is no longer with us, I always think of him in the present tense in my mind. Same goes with George. In fact, I always just think of them as they were in about 1964. So, I don't tend to get sad when I listen to the songs unless I stop and think about it.

Good, healthy case of denial.
Just a little story: I hate scary movies and never watch them... for the obvious reasons, aside from the countless screaming bimbos getting killed. Well, I don't really know what came over me the other day, but I rented the new version of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Two hours later, stupid me was now pretty shaken up, erratic heartbeats and all. I'm finally convinced of the therapeutic qualities of "Here Comes the Sun" though. __________________

Beatles songs as therapy. I like that idea.

That gives me an off-topic idea...
Karaoke as therapy! Get up on a stage and sing out your complexes. Cheaper than a psychiatrist and you get free beer sometimes. __________________

Ooh, yes! "Hey Jude" on karaoke!
It's good because if you're really drunk and you forget the words, you can just stand up there for a while going "na na na na, na na na na". __________________

Haha yeah! See, I think I'd probably only do Karaoke if I was drunk. But I don't drink, ever, so there you go. I shall never do karaoke.

I'd do karaoke, but just because I occasionally feel like being an attention whore.
So... Which Beatles song, really, would be the best to do at a karaoke bar? __________________

Re: karaoke. It's unavoidable here in the Philippines. There's a karaoke place at every corner, there are karaoke machines rented for special occasions, there are karaoke machines in video arcades... I haven't actually tried it now that I'm this old, but yes, I think every Filipino's gone through that harrowing experience. __________________

Well, Hey Jude would be great, but I think it might get a bit too long
Um. Let's see...Something like 'Love Me Do' would be easy to remember the words to as well. __________________
