Beatles Mix for 8 Days a Week.
Ok, so we all know and love the Beatles. That could go unsaid, but, believe it or not, there are some uneducated people out there who are not familiar with the music of the Beatles.
Now, these people must be educated, right? So, if you had to make a mix-tape to introduce these people to the wonderful world of Beatlemania, which songs do you think would be essential for the mix? (Remember, they have to fit on a tape and/or CD so, don't go overboard. You must be ruthless) Suggest away... __________________

Well, I guess we need eight songs, one for each day of our week.
I would probably make a tape with (listed alphabetically) And I Love Her Hey Jude Julia Let It Be Let Me Do Real Love Twist and Shout Yesterday because I have a special feeling to them, I hope it would be listenable. |

I like the idea of eight songs. My choices would be:
Hey Jude And I Love Her Norwegian Wood Help! Paperback Writer A Day In The Life Something Back In The USSR __________________

Stef! Hey! Nice mix.
Hm. Nice choices, I reckon. I made one for someone a little while ago, but I didn't keep a track listing. I have half of it somewhere...-goes to find it- SIDE A [x] Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown) [x] Nowhere Man [x] In My Life [x] She Said She Said [x] Good Day Sunshine [x] And Your Bird Can Sing [x] I Want To Tell You [x] I Am The Walrus [x] Baby You're A Rich Man [x] Only A Northern Song SIDE B [x] Hey Bulldog [x] It's All Too Much [x] While My Guitar Gently Weeps [x] Happiness Is A Warm Gun [x] Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except For Me And My Monkey [x] Across The Universe and I'm put: Don't Let Me Down, Something and Here Comes the Sun plus some others on there, too. __________________

Oh man, I'd try not to choose the really long ones like "Hey, Jude" for one, to make more songs fit.
Eleanor Rigby Help! Norwegian Wood Girl Happiness Is A Warm Gun Helter Skelter I Am A Walrus All My Loving If I Fell Penny Lane I Should Have Known Better Revolution Glass Onion Rocky Racoon Nowhere Man In My Life I Want to Hold Your Hand When I'm Sixty Four While My Guitar Gently Weeps Maggie May So maybe that's more of a mix cd. __________________

Oooh, last night I finally remembered to ask the guy I made the tape for if he had listened to it. And he said he liked it! So, now he's even cooler because he likes The Beatles. I said how 'I Am The Walrus' is a little weird, though and he said weird is good so...he rocks.

I also just realized my mistake just after I logged out the last time. There were still so many that I wanted in that I'd forgotten about! ...is it possible to have something like a mix trilogy? __________________

-thinks- Hmm...sure! Why not? I made a mix CD for one of my overseas friends once, full of Australian music, and it was two CDs. __________________

Aren't you worried he'll lose his grungy sound after that and start off with boyband Beatles music as well? J/k.

Not really. He already likes The Cure and all 80s stuff...and pop punk...Actually, now I'm thinking about him and his band doing boy-band stuff and I'm greatly disturbed. O_o

I think the Red and Blue "best of" CDs would work quite well for a newbie. They certainly worked well for me, anyway.
However, I did give a copy of "Revolver" to a friend of mine who was having trouble sleeping at night and told her to listen to it. She is now a big fan of the Beatles and also sleeps like a baby. __________________
