I half heartedly agree with you there. You see I understood it, but at the same time it got kind of old after awhile. It was a slap to the face for Angel because he left Sunnydale so Buffy could have a normal life, still loved her all of the years while they were apart, but at the same time Spike made some sacrifices. Faith would've been useful to Angel to even the score. Plus, she has the deepest connection with Angel considering they have A LOT in common.

Both beings knowing and experiencing the taste of the dark side on a path to atonement AKA redemption.

Of course I see it from all angles.
