The book won't just be what's popular right now. I want to include ships and fandom stuff that has been influential in shipping history.

I bet some fics have been deleted but there are still hundreds or thousands out there.

When they first met I doubt either of them envisioned Spike getting on his knees in front of Buffy and singing that he's her willing slave.

In the gif you can tell she is affected by it but she's trying not to be.

What a difference a few months make.

I can picture a younger Buffy finding out she dies and asking if they made sure not to tell Spike because she doesn't know what nasty thing he'd do with her corpse. And Willow would make an uncomfortable quip about how is it even necrophilia if he's dead too.

I still expect them to start having sex in Crush. It just looks so hot with her in the lacy Valentine's Day shirt all chained up him standing so close confessing his feels.

I have read some variations of those.

I wanna read one where instead of fighting to kill Slayers that Spike seduces them.
