He understood her on a level no one else did, and even at her worst, like the alley scene in DT, he never stopped loving her. She could have done anything to him, and he would still love her. I don't think you could say that about Angel. __________________

Angel wanted Buffy to save him.
While Buffy saved Spike, he never intended to find redemption through her. He just loved her and wanted to be with her. __________________

She had so many different emotions in S6. It's amazing how quickly someone can go from intense pleasure to crushing guilt and depression. __________________

He wanted to be worthy of her.
Angel wanted to be able to stop hating himself. That's why Spike deserved to be saved. He wasn't as selfish. I hate how Angel b*tches at Spike about how was only crazy for two weeks. Angel was cursed. Spike earned his soul. Why should it torment him as much? He deserved to be Shanshu'd, not Angel __________________

I agree that Angel is selfish and Spike deserves the shanshu.
Ever since Spike got a soul I thought, "Oh, the shanshu was about Spike then." Angel shouldn't think Spike got off easy. He should realize how stronger Spike is for being able to pull himself together and become something faster. __________________

He could barely keep the soul he was given back. It was slippier than a greased weasel!
Spike grew so much that I think that if he ever lost his soul again he wouldn't be that different. He still knows true love and sacrifice and guilt. He wouldn't be evil. __________________

I don't read the comics, so I don;t see him as Harm's friend. He's Spike's poker and party buddy
