It was all caused by Spike though, but the college life did separate the four a bit.

Lover's Walk did have a sad ending except for Spike having a good time in his car.

The reactions were funny but it made sense.

They had been growing apart all season.

That was what the fight was all about with Spike pitting them against each other.

I said the he pitted them against each other but he wouldn't have been able to if they hadn't have had major issues they had been ignoring.

Spike could have easily had the Scoobies fighting all the time if had wanted to sadly.

They were always ignoring things & that's why when they had fights like the one & later Season 7 it was the kind where things completely blew up.

I agree. The fight between the scoobies was coming eventually anyways. Spike just found a crack in the shield and used it towards his advantage.

It’s actually good the fight happened. It would have been super weird if they had just kept ignoring things or not acknowledging things that we (the viewers) could see happening between all the characters.

It's very sad but true though Spike could have always had the Scoobies fighting easily b/c they started not talking about anything.
