I disagree about Riley & don't even think Buffy wanted to truly be with him again.
I think she wanted to be in love with Riley but only just loved him. Joss even has said the only men that were important to Buffy are Spike & Angel when it came to who she was ever in love with too. Xander just made Buffy think Riley was her only chance left for a relationship. He needed to stay out of her love life period. In fact all the core Scoobies did b/c Buffy stayed out of their relationships. __________________
